System of a Down is NOT rock...... metal. Listen to some of the songs on their first CD and tell me they're not metal. Biohazard is kinda both but they still kick ass. Adn Hatebreed...... if you don't like them then there's something wrong with you  .

lol, well I listen to bands like Meshuggah, IllNath, Vehemence, Amon Amarth (my favorite band right now) and other stuff like that. And yeah, System of a Down is rock. Thier first CD might be considered nu-metal (which isn't actually metal, it's a sub-category of rock containing bands like Godsmack, Disturbed, stuff like that). |

WOW that has got to be the funniest thing ive ever heard. System of a down..metal LOL!!!. System of a Down is 100% radio rock which in my opinion sucks. Real metal doesnt get radio play with the exception of a few bands which DONT INCLUE SYSTEM OF A DOWN!!

Yes "MetalFan", thanks for resurrecting a thread that was months old....  And now saying System of a Down is not "metal" or overrated is bullshit. It's fine to have your own opinion, but not when it makes you look like a total dumbass. They don't play the good System of a Down songs on the radio. They play the slow paced ones, which to me, dosen't make them look good. If you actually listen to their CD's you can clearly hear the heavy, hard sound known as "metal." Just because they don't scream crazy shit all the time, makes you think there not real "metal?" Bullshit. But then again, you seem like the type of person who puts a label on everything. Labels are cheap shit. If you want to go ahead and label them as "metal" or "rock" then go ahead, but no one really gives a fuck what you think. K, thx. Nightwish, White Zombie, 18 Visions, Atreyu, Mastadon, Burnt by the Sun, Dying Fetus, Edenbridge, Epica, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Moonlight, Theatre of Tragedy, Within Temptation, Tristania. hey wow a 7 month old thread european metal kicks the ass of other metal. i'm not really that good at describing why i like them but i'll try Nightwish (the female vocals are awesome. almost like opera voice  )Dream Theater (probably more towards rock, but still good. Change of Seasons is 23 minutes and it's the best song they have.)
