I think that a PC is definately a better gaming machine then any console system. The consoles have no advantage over a PC aside from the price.

Posted By Tokin on 11/30/03 @ 7:46:12 PM
The price is now an advantage to the PC actually. The new systems are going to be just as expensive.

A PC is much better. It can be upgraded, it gets all the GOOD games consoles get about a month later anyway, so its like owning all the systems, and having the internet and games only for PC..PC's are just alot better and able to be used for many things.

Ok... First of all, you can hook up an X-Box controller to a PC if you have the right adaptors. Second, you can go on-line and play games at the same time on a PC easily. Press alt+tab while in a game to switch to whatever else you have running, and vice-versa.

Both are great -- just meant for different things... both have advantages and disadvantages too... So im going with no preference

well you have to look at it from both aspects if your talking about online gameplay i would say console just because there is NO lag where in games like diablo and warcraft lag is all over on pc... but single player i would say pc because the graphics are awesome

Wow that's so wrong. Ok, first... you're only gonna lag on PC if you are using a dial-up modem or playing on a really shitty server. This goes with consoles too however, so it's not just PC. The PC has way more on-line games, has higher quality on-line games, and beats the console in every category discluding cost.

Oh, and Diablo and WarCraft lag because they're made by Blizzard... $20 says that StarCraft: Ghost lags just as much as them.

3-4000 bucks on a pc? bah...i can spend just around 600 and be top of the line. you just gotta know where to shop and how to build

Whoa Whoa Whoa... those a pretty strong words! I think that blizzard does a pretty good job at maintaining their servers, and its prlly your connection.

Blizzard should be given the credit too lol , without them this forum wouldnt existed...

I would have to go with pc all the way. You can play almost every system on the computer anyways.

And one priceless advantade over console is pcs are upgradeable smile.gif
Wallet friendly... biggrin.gif

Posted By tacoX on 12/27/03 @ 1:43:38 PM
Wallet Friendly? Hah! You will spend OVER 1,000 for a decent computer, when you can get a GameCube for less then 100 bucks! The games cost pretty much the same too... so try explaining to me wallet friendly!

To you, my boy: Consoles are meant to last on the market fairly longer than Personal Computers. There is no need to upgrade consoles. Let's face it here, in terms of sheer power, PCs absolutely demolish consoles, but why does the X-Box, for example, push more polys?

This brings me to my next point. An X-box, with a clearly outdated budget chip (Celeron Based) running at 733Mhz, with a Geforce3 based GPU can push more polys than any Personal Computer. XB - K.O. @ 300,000,000p/s @ 125,000,000 Lit & Transformed P/S

ATi Radeon 9800XT - 31,000,000p/s

This brings me to yet another point. This is the stupidest debate that I've seen here on these boards. There is no comparison. Both products serve completely different functions, and cannot compared to each other because of the sheer difference. It's like comparing apples to oranges as citrus fruits. Even if we were comparing them as discrete gaming machines, the type of gaming is completely different. So I choose, indifferent.
