Don't have XBox live, but still want to play online? Well, now you can! It's as easy as XBconnect. Just go here http://www.xbconnect.com, download the software, and get ready to play your XBox games online. If you need help or have a question with the software there is a big list of FAQ's that will surely answer your question.

I don't think that it will be shut down, TON'S of people use this sorfware, and it has been around for a 1 1/2 years. but we allways need more players for halo, but you can not play with other people that have x-box live, you get it for free so.....

Its not illegal, it just connects you to another xbox over the web as if you were in a lan... it uses System Link(the lan option for multiplayer).
Gamespy does this too, but it sucks
