everyone here on base has theirs laying just like any console would lay, but i don't have one so my opinion really don't count lol

Mine lies normally (horizontally) because It won't stay upright on its side.. i wish it would. :/

Xbox is alot more secure though..
Ps2 is cheap plastic and looks like its gonna fall apart..
Supposedly you are supposed to buy the stand for the PS2 to stand upright perfectly...

Well i have my ps2 standing up right just fine and i have never gotten any disc errors and i have had my ps2 for 1 year so i dont know what is wrong all of yours.

vertically friend gave stand cause he had like 4 but i havent gotten a disc read error yet and ive had it for a good while

I dont think the vertical stand would actually fit in my room anywere. IT works much better to be put on it's bottom -- fits like a dvd/vcr player in my room.

Mines layes upwards b/c i thought that was how the were made 4 but i dont know but ps2 just is gay any wat mines alrdy broke.

well some times i have to put it side ways or it wont read disk but if it reads the disk thers no need to put it vertical

mine lies horizontally, with my camecube sitting on top of it...
...I've had it in the same spot for over a year, and I've only gotten one disc error.
(one of my idiot friends scratched my half-life disc when he borrowed it)
