To kick off the new User Reviews, here is my Review of the game Manhunt. Rockstar North is really rubbing it's crotch in the faces of Christian mothers everywhere. Rarely does a game make my stomach churn, this is one of those rare games. The only thing that kills the gore is the poor graphics delivered by the same Renderware engine that Powered GTA III/VC. Though using the same engine, the graphics are a tad better than either of the PS2 incarnations of GTA. The gameplay is similar to any stealth/action title such as Splinter Cell. I can say that the child in me is growing up, and just as often as a game makes my stomach churn, a game completely sucks me in, this is also one of those rare games. As much as I've been putting gaming aside lately, I just can't bear to let go of the PS2 controller with this game popped in. The control is similar to GTA, so if you've played GTA, this will be very easy to pick up. Along with a walkthrough in the beginning of the game by "The Director." The storyline is very disturbing. You play the role of "Cash" an ex-convict sentenced to death, only to wake up after you've been executed by a man only known as "The Director." He is the director of snuff films and he tells you how to execute people, if you do as you're told he'll spurt comments at you such as, "Good one Cash, you're turning me on." or, "Good job beating his fucking brains out all over the camera, you're getting me off." Brian Cox voices the director, making the story generally very believable. Overall, the game delivers a lot of gameplay, and a great storyline. The music is much better than the industrial/techno soundtrack I expected. It fits the game like a glove. So, to wrap this up, pick it up... if you've got the stomach. Graphics - 7 Gameplay - 9 Control - 9 Story - 10 Sound - 9 Storyline - 10 Entertainment - 9 Replay - 9 |

It's not a GTA Clone, it just inherits the controls and engine. Otherwise, it's more comparable to Splinter Cell. |
