Hacking and duping is destroying my favorite game. STOP IT!

Its just lame... really.

I hope every hacker gets their accounts wiped and IPs banned

Posted By lincolnluxor on 1/10/04 @ 4:49:42 PM
well i don't think hacks ruin the game, it makes the economy more accesable to those of us who can't spend every waking min. on the game. I personnaly don't use any hack other then the Map-Hack, but I will gladly tell everyone I know about every Hack I can find.

o and hackers accounts and IP's get banned all the time, but yet they keep coming back. Get used to it.

Get this straight.

Hackers do not ruin games.

Crackers do.

Those are scprit kiddes(The use programs to "hack" games.)

Its not your fault, because most people just generalize and blame hackers.

I hate those who hack games, sorry for people who do on here, but I think you are only making the game for yourself less fun. You finish the game much quicker, thus killing of the play time...so really, your not getting you plays worth. Meh, do what you want as long as it doesnt affect my gameplay experience. Then I'll report your ass in a heartbeat, sorry.

I will explain this to you even though u probbly won't understand.

We hackers Play a game but its diffrent from urs. You try to kill Diablo and be the greatest on game. We try to hack d2 and prove to blizzard that we can out smart them. We want to do are hacks to get elite but its not to get better then every one else. Its to prove to blizzard we can out do them. we play a game within a game are objectives are to alter game to give are selfs a unfare advantage over others and not get caught.

Posted By Tokin on 1/10/04 @ 7:35:34 PM
I understand the "Not playing by Blizzards rules and making our own, with our own objectives".

Except, that may only be true in D2 then I suppose. Even though out smarting blizzard is already too easy and the time your taking to do so is a waste. In other games..like warcraft 3 its a different story, to them, it has nothing to do with having an authority problem, its because they like to cheat and up their wins on their account.

Whatever, it depends on what game and your objectives.

Its still pointless though, eventually it gets boring or you get banned.

I agree... hacking ruins the point of gameplay. But its just soo damn... temping to hack!

*moved to debate*

well i personaly just use mh because i like it and sometimes i use another hack for fun so if we hack a game it is to make it funnier for us and we dont care if u dont like or not
blizz cant bann every1 for hacking because if they do that they will lose money besides playing agaisnt hacker is fun dueleing agaisnt 1 is fun
exemple i never used ith itens on last patch and i fought against some people that used ith and killed and died the fun part is that u see who is noob and who isnt so doesnt make diferensse hacking or not hacking
people that gets hack usally dont play 24hours the game so he gets hack to b as good as those who play 24hours the game

Posted By Tokin on 1/10/04 @ 11:21:50 PM
Blizzard wont lose money. They got their cash when you bought the game. Its not like they charge for b.net. If they did, then you would be right, they wouldnt ban, but guess what, they mass ban every couple of months and patch your so called hacks, which, never call them that again because if any real hacker heard you say that you would be made fun of until you die. rolleyes.gif

the only hack I would consider using is mh, because it just saves time and annoyance.

But when people dupe wicked items, I get left in the dust... I have been playing this game for almost 4 years and it seems that I have always been a newbie.

Posted By lincolnluxor on 1/11/04 @ 10:47:15 AM
4 years? riiiight your an idiot and no one will believe you. LoD has only been out since '01 (not even 3 years yet), D2 has been out since mid '00 ( ok so you played since D1? NO), and D1 came out in '98. I HIGHLY doubt you've played since the high life in D1. And if you did play in D1 your a hacker too or you are a noob.

Posted By hacks-are-for-n00bs on 1/12/04 @ 10:24:30 PM
maybe bot 4 years, but as soon as D2 came out I bought it and have been playing ever since (with a few breaks)

I think its been almost 4 years...

You are still hacking though... so you contridict yourself. The game was made for people to explore, not use maphack. So dont bitch about us using other hacks that doesnt even do much damange (-dupes/rune dupes)

Posted By hacks-are-for-n00bs on 1/13/04 @ 10:39:58 AM
I don't use maphack

I said I would only consider it... but I won't because a hack is a hack and I won't be hacing a double standard.

Posted By hacks-are-for-n00bs on 1/13/04 @ 10:41:11 AM
And duping does do damage. It completely changes the economy of the game, and leaves people like me a poor beggar...

Posted By tacoX on 1/13/04 @ 12:48:55 PM
It doesnt... there is no way to dupe 1.10 items (-runes) and have the items perm... so it doesnt relly effect the economy

Posted By demo on 1/13/04 @ 4:11:39 PM
I dont think a game would be perfect without hackers but yet I still think they ruin some games.

Posted By Pharismo on 1/13/04 @ 7:22:41 PM
well runes would worth a lot since dupe they worth nothing anymore so it ruins rune economy and if u noob and do hellforge quests to get decent itens u got fucked so it has a problem and made noobs even more noobs tham they were since if they dont mf they will still got noob itens or going to buy on ebay

it is true what u said, i used to love ith itens besides i never used tham but they were cool

Hacking brings new interest to the game for those who are bored with it.

Posted By logic on 1/21/04 @ 10:23:49 PM
Hacking is essential in a mmorpg with a large player base like blizzard has.

If hacking/cracking did not exist, then those.. what was it, '4 year veterans' who can't really exist, well, they would have all, and noobs would have none.

You realize that most people, once they get their 'godly items' they will not trade them, but keep them, because there will be nothing better and noone else will have the only few things better, and since they don't trade the things they have, like godly mf gear since were speaking about D2 obviously, then only those people who already have anything will get new things, therefore, the 'noobs' stay 'noobs'. Granted, over a very very very long period of time, these 'noobs' can slowly get crap mf gear, then use it to get slightly better mf gear, and use that to get slightly better mf gear, and so on and so forth, and myabe 10 years from now be good enough to get the items the 'l337' guys already have and be in contest, but wait, 10 years, now those 'l337' guys have better stuff by far, and so the saga continues.

That's your 'perfect' world.

Hackers, you may not like them, but without you even realizing it do make your gaming experience more pleasant.

These hackers saw the above, and decided no, this shit isnt gonna fly, and made their own items, duped there crap mf gear they got and traded, used mh to speed things up to get better gear, did everything they could without seriously harming the servers or just hacking the god source code on b.nets main server and editing chars themselves, and therefore caught up with the 'l337' guys iv spoken of, and then they got the same stuff, they duped it, they traded it around and did 'free' games for so many people, sold stuff on ebay, and have broadened the 'wealth' of the game tenfold. It is now possible to take a character and get him to lvl 80 in one day if you wanted to, because the economy is so high and booming.

You don't like that? You think it's unfair that you had to spend 4 months to get to level 60 without cheating? .... Sorry cool.gif

You may not approve of the way things are, Your morals may be 'high and mighty'
You say 'god frowns upon hacking, he gave programmers the brains to write these games, and if they didnt put these hacks in, there not right'
(iv actually heard that one before)
so.. zealots, try this 'god gave hackers the intelligence to see flaws, enhance them, twist them, manipulate them, and do whatever they want, and they choose to use it in the game, and, i guess since these people were made by the same god and have the same rights, i guess what they do is right as well.'

Hacking may not be your choice, but it does help you even if you choose not to use programs like MH.

Hacking is, and forever will be, ESSENTIAL to gaming, without it, gaming will die.
