Do you use it? Just wondering if its a waste of our money to have it in it!

Posted By lincolnluxor on 1/18/04 @ 1:33:57 AM
Well I don't have a PS2, but when I go to my friends dorm, I'll use it before I'll use their DVD players... but the CD player is a waste lol

It's an interesting feature that doesn't bump the price of the PS2. I used to use it constantly when I still didn't have an X-Box or a real DVD player in my room. It's convenient, and for many people, it's the only DVD player they've got.

Ya, I used to use the DVD player, cause it was the only thing that was hooked up to my system. But since Christmas, I havn't because I got a DVD/VCR player. I noticed that it wasn't top of the line, and skipped sometimes, but it was still a reasonable bet, speaking in fact that it's just an extra bonus to the system.

Have not used either personally, but have on friends systems.

My friend uses it... heh... but my question is -- why do you think there is a difference of 80$! between GC and PS2?

Posted By logic on 1/21/04 @ 8:35:53 PM
because game cubes are gay, i mean, the quality of gc are not good? ps2 is better? gc sucks? ps2 rocks?

I don't know the economic answer, but I believe that ps2 features more add on bonus systems and game options, along with integratable pre-generation games.. basically you can play ps1/ps2 games on it, meaning a bigger database.

just opinion

Posted By lincolnluxor on 1/21/04 @ 8:46:53 PM
well you can also play ANY gameboy game on the GC, and play it online etc... etc... so they all have their advantages.

Absolutely, I just enjoy playstations reputation for good games, continuous innovations, and evolving style. Nintendo seems to make the same games over and over.. mario this and mario that, etc. etc.

Posted By lincolnluxor on 1/21/04 @ 8:57:31 PM
well IMO playstation keeps repeating the same thing... Nintendo just attaches the same name to everything and makes all the game different.

Posted By logic on 1/21/04 @ 9:11:36 PM
What do you think is repeating? IMO every console has repetition, its unavoidable.. and perhaps your right, it just seems that with nintendo it was more obvious to me.

  • mario world
  • mario duckhunt
  • mario cart
  • mario brothers
  • mario brothers 2
  • mario brothers 3
  • super mario

it just keeps going

well remember your also talking about reg nintendo games when there really want' much to put out...

now they have all kinds of different shit

mario sunshit... err sunshine
mario party
super smash bro melee
etc...

Point granted. I gave up on the Nintendo console after 64, so i admit i am out of the loop.

The nanometer process difference. The Emotion Engine is a 250nM process, and the Gekko is just 180nM. The Gamecube also doesn't have an internal power supply, and it's price is also due to it's tiny disk drive and compartment. Not to mention the GPU of the GC, the Flipper, which is built on a 180nM process. Oh, the GC doesn't have a USB port, and though it has serial ports and all of that good shit, Nintendo seemed to really put a lot of sweat into making this bitch as little as possible.
