Early Edge? Early Edge? (Origional Post)

Do you think that the people who have played UT since the start of it always will have a advantage because they have played the game much more.
Or do you think that you just need to play the game for a certain periode (like 3 years more or less) and then you are fully trained and then it all comes down to who has that little edge?

Hope you understand... heh.

Back when I used to be extremely good at Unreal Tournament, people would often ask me how long I had been playing for. I would give them an estimate of about a year, and then they would call me a bullshitter and such. It seemed to them that people who have been playing since the game came out "had to" be better then anyone else. Shows how wrong they were. Some of the best people I even knew started at around the same time as me, and we could take on just about anyone.

So, no. I don't think it matters how long someone has been playing a game. The only thing that matters is if they want to become good at it, and how much they practice.

well i know lot of ppl that are damn good in like avp2(alien versus predator) and still kick ass in ut b/c its the same thing or almost if your good in a shooting ur good in all shooting that what i think and is not real at 100% but most of the time

I guess the real edge depends on how hardcore you play it. For example, I played CS for about 3 months and I was allready in the upper CAL leagues.

People didnt believe me, but I did play like 6 hours a day at times (weekends, etc).

Usualy you just have to study elite players, practice certain tactics never get killed on godlike in the tournament, play EVERY map 10 times on godlike in a row without dieing -NO CHEATS- thats what I did and I own fairly 75% of the people I face
