I saw it right when it came out... defintly the greatest anime *In my opinion.* Anyone else seen it, like it? Any animes that are like it, or are better?

The name does not sound to good but names are not everything. I only like a few anime shows myself. They are family guy, futurama, and aqua team hunger force.

Demo those are cartoons not anime. An anime by defenition has to be from japan.
But as to princess mononoke, it's a great movie. Theres another movie that became pretty popular in the states by the same guy a couple years after. It's called "Spirited Away", it doesn't have nearly as much action as mononoke but it's pretty good.

Monkey_boy gave it to me, ive known it for a while but finally having it is great, I think my favorite scenes are prolly when the "cursed arms" take over when he shoots the arrows...then again when he opened that big friggin door with one hand..uber
there is also a GIANT difference in the 2 different versions of it...
theres the english verion and the jap version (subtitled)
although both versions have the same amount of blood gore etc, the jap version is just a total different expirence. The voices from each character sound as they actually should sound like and not the BUTCHERED american voices...
another thing was that...
At first I watched the english version then the jap version...the jap version makes alot more sence then the english version....because they didnt redraw the movie the american actors had to put together sentences that matched the movements of the jap mouth movements... although they did a good job the american version can still leave you somewhat confuzed where the jap vesion clears up so much

I watched the Japanese version, i'd never buy the American version, they butcher anime.

It's always nice to see more people who don't just watch the english version because they're too lazy to read. Japanese is where it's at for any anime and always will be.

I saw it too. It was accually really good. A first i thought it was gonnabe stupid because of its name but in the end i enjoyed it. I loved those things that click their heads.

That girl was pretty hot even though she was animated... I mean... uhh... It was a great movie. The boar fight had to be my favorite part. What about you guys?

lol the boar fight...which one there were 2...one at the very beginning where ashitaka just pegs the giant boar demon in the face with an arrow then theres the one with the blind boar and all this dudes when they fight the humans...
my 2 favorite parts without a doubt are when ashitaka is riding past and shoots his arrows complately whiping off both this dudes arms and nailing them to a tree... and the other when he opens that gaint door with one hand

i have it at home...but it is awesome....not the best i've seen though but it is still a great anime
