Did any of you guys hear anything about The Chronicles of Riddick? I saw previews and it sounded pretty good. I also, saw Pitch Black when Vin Diesel stared as Riddick. I liked that movie, so I was thinking about seeing The Chronicles of Riddick. So, this is where you can post your opinions on how you think the movie willl be. Also, it comes out tomorrow, are any of you going to see it then? |

| I highly doubt I'll go and see it... this looks like another one of those movies where I don't think I should waste my time going to the theaters to see it... |

Leaving to see this movie in about half an hour. I will post a FULL review when I return, so if it sucks, at least I am saving you the money, right? And if its good, ya'll can go see it tomorrow! lol Wish me luck :-P (I personally thought Pitch Blach was lacking a bit of content and backstory, so lets hope this is better) |

Ok, just got back from the movie, and like I promised, my full review! *I WILL NOT RUIN ANYTHING IMPORTANT IN THE MOVIE SO DONT WORRY* First of all, allow me to start out by saying that I left the theater quite confused. No, not because I didn't understand the movie. That I got. I am confused because I honestly cannot decide if I liked it or not. Now, hear me out. My biggest complaint was the lack of an ending. The ending, if you can call it that, was more akin to the projector stopping than an actually conclusion. Its like, BOOM credits. I'm left sitting there thinking "thats it?" There definately should have been something more there. Another thing I didn't like was that they tried so hard to play off of Pitch Black, and yet that really had nothing to do with the movie. Now, I can see reasons for this. Perhaps they felt that since many people who would be seeing RIDDICK might not have seen PB, so they decided to make it more of its own movie and less of a sequel, to avoid confusion. However, in a situation like this, I would say do it, or don't. Please refrain from making it both. They ended up with a sequel that had nothing to do with the original, which is just odd. As far as the "pro's" well, it was a pretty decent movie. You like action, there's plenty. Mistery and intrigue? Plenty. Just plain cool shit, and awesome effects? Plenty. Good acting...well, you cant have it all, right? lol Anyway, all in all, as far as mechanics go, I give it an 8. The movie flowed nicely, and just looking at it objectively, it was a good movie, overall. As far as storyline, plot, and backstory, I give it a 5. In all fairness, PB is a hard movie to build off of, since that movie was also lacking in these areas. The storyline seemed a bit overdone, and kind of went off on too many little tangents. And finally, there were a few contradictions in the backstory, and a few plot holes, but they were hardly noticable, and did not effect the overall feel of the movie. Hope I helped you guys. Would I reccomend seeing it? Sure, it was ok. Its a good night out, and it didnt SUCK. So if you go, enjoy. If you dont, well...rent it at least. Good to see, especially if you already suffered through PB, lol. |

I was going to see it, but I heard it got horrid reviews. It wasnt really hyped up much at all -- kinda disipointing. It was a stillborn -- I may rent it when it... becomes rentable? |

well if you can't decide if it's good or not then it sounds like I should get the dvd. Still firm on my decision not to go and see it

I forgot to give you guys a full review also, Ralcore mostly covered it but I disagree with SOME things he had to say.
That's not my biggest complaint but it is one of the major complaints. OK OK that's my major complaint they leave it where you're like "Oh my god, what a fucking bad ass, OWN THE WORLD!!" Then it goes ... blah ... and credits start rollin'. It's a setup for a sequel i'm sure, if not then they can totally suck my cock. At the end anyone know what happened to that lil girl and mom? They showed them alot, and at the end they're like "Oi f that".
What was this movie about? Him and mercs get stuck on a marund lil planet, and there's a MAJOR F-ING ALIEN INFECTION. Then the second movie was about, First it was him trying to get merc's off his back, then... more mercs... then an army of the unde**? Then you have this side plot that's about Jack. OMG jack I didn't want you to be like me, OMG jack I wanted you to stay hidden, OMG jack you're really hot   .That's what the movie is about, it flows and everything, but there's really a simple plot. Riddik = Ownage, complete total ownage. I'd watch this agian just to see the ownage. I liked that guy that was a necron/furror, what a badass. Best part... Defintly the eyes, whenever they showed that ... wow what a badass. FINAL RATING 8.9/10 -Better then most movies -See in movie theater -Rent on DvD -Buy on DvD |

yup, ill agree the movie was complete ownage. theres really nothing i cant say bad about it excepy........ WTF THAT WAS THE SHITTEST ENDING EVER, and umm jack dont worry ill give you mouth to mouth  just dont die on me,

| I went and saw it agian (for free), it was sorta boring the second time. It might have been boring because I had a really bad headache and I just ate so I was distracted (dang black people infront of us were talking the entire time, then a cell fone rang and nobody picked it up... it just kept on ringing *agh*. |

I think I would have enjoyed the film more if 1. I had seen Pitch Black and 2. It had kept its 'R' rating. The PG-13 almost killed the film since fight scenes, the main attraction of the movie, had to be shown in some sort of psychadelic camera mode. Either strobe lights or black and white or slow motion. Really, fight scenes aren't where you choose to be artistic. Fight scenes are where you give fans their due and show Riddick kicking ass. |

I think I might wait to see it after those reviews... It seems okay, but i'll just rent it now. Thanks for the reviews, I will see a better movie now.  |
