well in the recent patch, PunkBuster got added into the game. dunno if anybody has been playing it, but in the earlier days there was a lot of wallhacks and aimbots.
anybody run a server in here? I'm wondering how affective it is, since it seems most of the trouble these days on servers is gone ^__^

It's very effective. I know alot of clan people who have been banned by Punkbuster, and I think it's great. I remember before patch 1.4, I was banned from alot of servers because they "swore that I wallhacked." Although I constatnty told them that if they actually listen for footsteps, they too could knock down more then 20 people without getting killed.
Anyways, after that I was unbanned from a few servers, and Punkbuster never found anything on me. It was great to hear an apology from those bastard admins.
The point is, I think PB is great because before the patch, alot of people were being accused, but there was no proof. Now Punkbuster does all the work, and it's usually right.

I know what you mean, Tracer, i know a few people that got banned when they weren't even cheating just for being good, and server admins that would use aimbots...
You need to think something's up when you've been killing people half a map away with a colt 45! Thank goodness for PB. ^__^

Actually it's been pissing me off. I actually thought I had purchased the first lag free game ever, until they made punkbuster a necessity. It was more fun before it I think. It's still probably one of my top ten favorite online games though.
