Santana is the shit... he plays all kinds of different beats, and the guitar sound alone is about the most relaxin sound around.

Mick Thompson from Slipknot is my favourite. He may not be as popular as other guitarists, but he is so fucking good. Here are a few pics of him from concerts and shit...
These motherfuckers are as crazy as it gets.

Slash is awesome. Joe Perry is pretty good, as is Angus Young.
Bands are Guns 'N' Roses, Aerosmith, and AC/DC, in that order.

Mick Thompson is a shitty guitarist, let's see him stand against the likes of real metal gods. Like, Erno Vuorinen or Michael Ammot.

He is just as good as any of those other fucks.
Alot of people stereotype him, or any member of Slipknot, because of of the kind of music they play and who they are. That is total bullshit. I can understand if you don't like their music, that's fine. Just don't stereotype him because of the band he is in. People like Eric Clapton, I can appreciate. I totally hate his music, but I recognize his talent.
Mick Thompson is an amazing guitarist who deserves some more recognition.
Also, I can't believe no one has mentioned Jimmy Hendrix yet. He is for sure the best guitarist ever.

From the few songs that I've heard by slipknot, the guitar play does not seem that skillfull. If you have any song names that show his real skill, I will be happy to listen to them.

You probably listened to some songs off their first CD. I don't think they were particularly amazing back then either, but that's alright. Their second CD, Iowa, focused alot on drumming, so I doubt you will hear an amazing guitar work off of that one either.
However, listen to almost any song on their new CD. Alot of the songs are more guitar oriented, and you can hear it. Even the slow songs have good guitar work.
Also, he has many solos that he has done. They are all over Kazaa, so they are easy to find. His solos are crushing.

Song names, I have no clue about anything about slipknot. So I don't know what their newest album is called.

Kirk Hammet was an awesome guitarist. I've heard Slipknot's new album and the guitars are pretty nice. Mick Thompson doesn't suck, I think Slipknot just bogs down most of his talent along with a lot of other members like Joey Jordison (drummer).

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. Their new CD is called "Vol.3: The Subliminal Verses" and it can be found here.
sXe said it well, although I don't think Slipknot "bogs him down." If you don't like their kind of music you can agree with him, but I think they work well together and their new CD shows it.
Oh, by the way, welcome to GamingVoid sXe!

Yeah, Slipknot's new CD does show how well the people can work together. The stuff isn't all screaming either there's smooth, melodic tracks, along with their usual hard-hitting songs, although the hard songs, like most of the songs in Iowa, don't take precedence in the album. Maybe Slipknot doesn't "bog him down", but I think Mick can do a lot better. I've seen the tabs for some songs and its really not that difficult. A another good guitarist was Tony Iommi. Great guitar play. H e really knew how to work the guitar. Thanks for the welcome Tracer.
