Here's a great comparison of the GV80 and Aviator for anyone still deciding which to get.

Verdict
Both of these good-looking, high-end crossovers have been flattered by reviews from the motoring press. Unfortunately for Lincoln, Consumer Reports has a different take, with the non-profit consumer organization listing the brand dead-last among the 26 in its latest reliability survey because of issues with the Aviator and smaller Corsair. Complaints listed include transmission replacements, in-car electronics “gremlins,” problematic power equipment, and engine and body issues.

The GV80 hasn’t been on the road long enough for any major issues to be reported. Time will tell. Here’s the primary thing in its favour, though: In trying to establish the Genesis brand as a legitimate player in the luxury segment, Hyundai is making the ownership experience as pleasant as possible — or at least less painful.

Like all Genesis models, the GV80 is sold for a set price that includes all delivery and destination fees as well as a suite of ownership benefits including Genesis at Home concierge service, complimentary scheduled maintenance, Genesis Connected Services, map updates – and more – for five years or 100,000 km.

We really loved looking at the GV80. Unfortunately, the local Hyundai dealership lost it's Genesis dealership at the beginning of the year, and now the closest dealership is 100 miles away. So we are reluctantly moving on. and are focusing on an Aviator. Are others running into issues with lack of proximity of dealers?

RE: Lincoln Aviator I test drove the Aviator for 45 minutes and it is a great looking car inside and out. The dash (see photo) looks a lot like the GV-80 and both are beautiful. However, the Aviator has two deal breakers: the transmission had difficulty finding the 'right' gear producing a jerky ride. Also, there is padding on the seat back that runs across my shoulder blades (I'm 6"1') that makes for a lot of discomfort: it feels as if I'm being pushed forward. As much as I wanted to buy American, the GV-80 is clearly a better SUV that rides both quieter and smoother!
