Will it be available in the US? I have a 2021 that I ordered in October 2020 and has been delayed to August as a 2022. Would love this option. Some information is starting to appear: Genesis GV80 6-seater to be Added for 2022MY - Korean Car Blog
Interesting that they told you that. Last word my dealer heard from Genesis (a few days ago actually) was that 2021 we’re still on their way. They were still being produced on the assembly line. I have a GCS 3.5 Prestige coming early August, and it’s still a 2021. The 2022 GV80 most likely won’t start appearing until the end of September at the very earliest, per information from Genesis. Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you ordered one in October, and your dealer is telling you it hasn’t arrived and won’t until August…he’s lying to your face. It was probably sold to someone willing to pay more and your order pushed back. Many people who ordered 4-6 months after you have already received there’s. I ordered mine in March, and it’s due to arrive in 4 weeks. These Hyundai…errr, “Genesis” salesman are pretty awful with their lies. Will it be available in the US? Im in no rush so I didn't push it. He shows me his screen every month with my order moving up the line. Its a small dealership. They had a black on black that I could have had 6 months ago but I just couldnt deal with the color scheme. Hey maybe it all works out for the best as I'd love to get the 2+2+2 with the rear video. He told me that it may only be available in Korea. And yes-- all these salesman are vile beings.
Thanks for posting the article. I hope this is all true because I've been disappointed with the lack of the exact features posted since I saw them in the G80 first. But I hope for the U.S. this will be the refresh especially with colors. Dealers in the US are obsessed with order 50 shades of gray colors. And when they do stock one with color they pair with the dull black interior. But the article really seems to be describing a GV90. The GV80 already has a 6 seater in the advanced Plus Trim. Again, the U.S. is barely stocking any. I must have a 3 row. And the rear entertainment package would be good for the kids. Why have such luxury and not share it with the family when only the driver get all the fun.Link works fine for me…here’s what it says:
A new report that said a Genesis GV80 6-seater variant will be launched in the third quarter of this year is now confirmed by the spy shot you can see above. When the 2022MY arrives to the South Korean market, the GV80 will have a more luxurious and spacius 6-seater model.
The GV80 undergoes a model year change and a new six-seater model will be added. This new 2+2+2 seat configuration will enhance 2nd row space, luxury and convenience by adding a dual touch screen and multi-function armrest which is very similar to the front one. It includes the Genesis Touch Controllerthat supports handwriting recognition.
Also, now a new rear seat entertaiment system is included. This new system includes dual monitor installed behind the front seats. The two monitor screens on the left and right of the front seatback can play different multimedia independently and can be used intuitively through the touch screen function.
Like in the G80, you will easily charge your smartphone with wireless charging pads in the rear seat. In addition to rear ventilation and heated seats, the position and angle of the seats can also be adjusted, and the infotainment system can be operated through an integrated controller.
Apart from that, the updated GV80 model year change will have new interior color combinations. The report also talks about a new exterior package, head-up display (HUD) improvement, a revised augmented reality navigation and driver assistance systems are also planned.
The Advanced Plus trim is a 7 passenger, not 6. The second row has a bench seat that allows three to sit. If you look at the enclosed picture, the second row in the 6-seater has a center console which mirrors the front console. Thanks for posting the article. That is so good to see. I forgot to even look at the pictures. I'm glad I was not able to get a GV80 this time around. I want that 6-seater! That middle seat was pretty much useless in the current MY GV80 anyway. That's why I wanted the advanced plus 3 row because I'm coming from a 3 row 6-seater (2017 Santa Fe Limit Ultimate) already and I'm not willing to sacrifice that option. And I so hope they give us some COLOR!The Advanced Plus trim is a 7 passenger, not 6. The second row has a bench seat that allows three to sit. I do agree with the color selection. It reminds me of the old Ford commercial from the 30’s that said you can have any color you want as long as it’s black. The vast majority of colors of GV80 I see around here on lots are shades of white and black, paired with black interior…..completely boring in my opinion. I think they are trying to attract the typical MB, Audi, and BMW buyer who 90% of the time drive black on black cars. Cancelling the Gold Coast Silver and Lima Red is a major miscalculation in my mind. Two of the best colors and like finding a needle in the haystack.

My Plan is to go with the GV80 2022MY 6- Seater and then get the Electric Hyundai Ionic 7 3 row SUV in 2023. That way I have 2 vehicles I've always wanted and have 1 be all electric. The GV90 will cost more then both I believe if istarting out at $100k. Why not have a fully combustible Luxury and an all electric option in your garage for less than the price of the 1 GV90.Also glad to see the 6 row option. Seriously considering a GV80 to replace my 2011 Lincoln MKT 6 seater (console with fridge in middle seat). By the way--the fridge option is fantastic except not driver accessible!
Edit: Looked up the GV90, and although larger, it is reported that it will only be electric. That's totally eliminates it for me. As a highway cruiser, electric will not have enough range. Would need 1k range, and then would be stuck somewhere waiting for a recharge. No way--no how!!
