I have a 2022 GV70 3.5T that I've owned since September, 2021. I love it. Mileage is around 2,950 miles. I have an annoying transmission shifting issue. Under normal/partial throttle the shifts are fairly crisp. However, at full throttle the shift to 2nd gear is quick, but the 3rd gear hangs like the transmission doesn't want to change gears. It eventually does, but it makes the shifting at WOT very sloppy. Anyone else with the 3.5T experience the same thing?

Thanks for your reply. I’ll try to describe. Normal driving results in normal shifts. WOT from a stop, crisp shift to second. The shift to 3rd is strange. It feels like it should shift to 3rd but stays in 2nd longer than it should resulting in a really loose shift to 3rd. I have the sense the car is revving in neutral. I actually get to a point where I want to use the paddle shifter to force the 3rd gear shift. Just strange. I’ve had many automatics over the years and this just feels super sluggish in shifts to 3rd and to 4th. It’s so weird, it’s just kind of difficult to describe.

I know it’s not a DCT (as in the C8 Vette and new GT-500) but those shifts are bang bang bang. This is bang bbbaaannnggg.

I’ll try it again tomorrow and hopefully give you a better description.

Okay, so I took the GV70 out for a drive and did two WOT pulls from a stop. Shifts were pretty much okay. But then I did a WOT pull while in 2nd gear and when it shifted to 3rd gear it seemed to be slipping. Not saying that it was; it just didn't shift as crisply as in the 0-60 WOT pull.

Have you checked to see if there is a difference between eco up to sport+ mode?

I have a 16 month old GV80 3.5 T Advanced Plus and love this car. (20,000 miles). I also have had some annoying issues with the tranny and almost from new. In my case when I coast slowly up to a traffic stop, the transmission bangs fairly hard into first gear, it's a definite hard clunk you can feel. It doesn't do it all the time but often enough. Dealer says they can't find anything wrong, surprise!
Second issue I had was just a few weeks ago, I was accelerating hard to pass a line of cars and dump truck on a single lane road, during the overtake the transmission hit the rev limiter and refused to shift to a higher gear, stalling out as I was passing this train. Not sure what gear I was in but I was doing around 80 mph so maybe 6th? It was only when I lifted to back out of my overtake, did the tranny suddenly shift to the higher gear and I could complete my pass safely. This was a little disconcerting I can tell you so back to the dealer next week.
Other then that I've no issues at all with the car which has been great. Occasionally it'll have some strange stuff happen like it'll just shut off at a traffic light which requires a restart with no further issues. Also sometimes my infotainment systems acts up and nothing will work. Turn the car off mostly fixes it but sometimes I'll need to have it off for a period of time and all automatically resets. Note: these modern day gremlins are few and far between in my Genesis and are not uncommon in most other brands, I had similar issues with my Audi Q7, another great car.

No difference. I even did a Custom mode, but nothing eliminated the occasional quirk in upshifting. I would just use Sport mode but the shifts are way too long on a normal drive, resulting in the vehicle staying in a gear at a higher rev (maybe 3K) and making it sound like it wants to/should shift but doesn't. I do like the short downshift in the gears when slowing down. Pretty cool.

Thanks for your reply. When your GV70 stalls occasionally at a stop, did you forget to enable A-OFF by pressing the switch (below)? I hate that feature and always push the A-Off switch when I start it up. I just don't like it when the motor shuts off when stopped.

It's kind of feels like it is shifting into 3rd but then instantly shifts into 4th. Hence the long shift from 2nd to (4th) which feels like the gear is slipping. I'm not saying that is what it's doing; just feels it.

Anyone have a super easy way to install the auto start/stop override harness????
I'm disabled so not the best with my hands/pry tools anymore...
So if anyone has a simple method than the published removal of side and the rubber trim, it would be appreciated...
