The fastest Genesis 0-60 time so far is 4.5 seconds from the 2020 G70 3.3T. With a JB4 map and higher octane gasoline (94, 99, etc.) I bet we can shave off up to a second, bringing it to 4.1! Its what G70 owners have been able to do. Some guys run 3.3 going by that method alone. I bet some air and fuel mods can shave a bit more off.

It's faster than the BMW X4 which hits 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. It's on the same pace as the X5 which does 0-60 in 5 seconds.

It's smaller like an X3 though. Or a Q5. Any idea the 0-60 of an SQ5 or X3 M (the M Sport model not the full M). I feel like a full M is a lot more expensive.

From what I can find the GV70 can stack up nicely against the Q5 but the X3 is a different animal altogether.

Audi Q5 - 0-60 in 5.9 seconds
Audi SQ5 - 0-60 in 5.1 seconds

BMW X3 - 6.2 seconds
BMW X3M - 4.1 seconds
BMW X3M Competition - 3.3 seconds

I'm patiently waiting to see the GV70 interior dimensions: legroom, headroom, shoulder room etc. At 6'2" I felt real comfortable in the GV80's driver seat. If the dimensions are close to the GV80's, I'll maybe hold off for the GV70.

Oh, and when comparing the GV70 exterior dimensions with the Q5 and X3, the only real noticeable difference is the fuel tank capacity. The GV70 is 15.8 gallons and the Q5 and X3 are 18.5 and 17.7 gallons respectively.

Forgot where I saw the report but its very doable considering the other numbers out there.

Heard from Charlie (Asian Petrolhead on YouTube) that the seats are wider and more interior room in the front than the G70. He is 6'2" and so am I. We liked the G70 but the interior was a little tight for us and we were hoping the GV70 was not so "snug". Our local Hyundai/Genesis dealer couldnt give us a date for the GV70 but has a 2021 Santa Fe Calligraphy arriving in late January. We checked out a 2021 SF SEL and it was very roomy, bright and airy inside. We will check the Calligraphy out but I would prefer a GV70 but we can't wait for ever.

How long can you wait? GV70 us supposed to come in 2021, but considering the GV80 only just hit dealers now, I have to think we're at least 6 months away from GV70 deliveries

That's the best part, many of these guys still run the stock Michelin P4S's from what I gather.
Its generally known that those tires handle torque very well and offer a good amount of street/track performance, especially when properly warmed up.

I heard end Q2 next year, by July hopefully.

I recommend asking a few dealers since the arrival info might vary at the dealership level.

Hey @philbytx! Are there any other SUVs that you're looking at aside from the GV70 and Santa Fe?

We currently have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Diesel.....my first and last FCA product!
Looked at the M-B GLC (SWMBO liked the look) but it was an older design/platform and an a la carte menu for options. Plus it only had a 4 year warranty!!!!
Not looking at BMW's....BTDT and nothing else has such a good value proposition and warranty as Hyundai/Kia products. Our 2011 Optima EX has been as dependable as a hammer and is still tight and looks great.
That is why we have both the 2021 SF Calligraphy and the 2022(?) GV70 in our sights.....

I owned a 2012 BMW 550i. Beyond the N63 engine disaster that BMW came out with a several thousand dollar no cost service campaign for the unfortunate owners to try to fix some of the problems it didn't help the resale value which was totally trashed by all the engine problems. Two examples I had are the battery & tires. My battery died at 2.5 years. $490 to replace and BMW absolutely would not cover any of it. You have to use the BMW AGM battery and have it "registered" to the car if you want the electronics to function properly. The run flat tires were close to $2000 to replace although I think they have come down in price some since then they are still way expensive. First and last BMW for me.

I've been looking for something to replace my 2016 Acura RDX and haven't come across exactly what I was looking for yet. The GV70 looks like it checks all of the boxes I want. I'm in no big hurry and will wait until the USA release. Liking the Royal Blue/Ocean Blue - Havana Brown two tone.

Thanks for the insight! I didn't realize BMW does that type of proprietary stuff that makes no sense but for them to earn money. I was thinking of also an Acura RDX but heard they have electronic problems too. I think they're going to "freshen" the RDX for this year's release and have a full redesign in 2024. How was your experience with RDX? Another option is the new redesigned Lexus NX... but I'm curious if they'll update any of the electronics since they are SO outdated.
