Have heard recent comments that folks who have purchased a new Genesis vehicle through a standard Hyundai dealership do not receive very good after sales service when compared to the after sales service provided by the stand alone Genesis dealership; perhaps like Toyota vs Lexus or Honda vs Acura for Lexus and Acura vehicles.

In our area, we only have a standard Hyundai dealership and in fact, do not think there is a stand alone Genesis dealership anywhere in British Columbia. So when purchasing a Genesis we have to deal through a Hyundai dealership and then have them handle all after sales service activities.

What is the satisfaction level of after sales support in this forum of those who have purchased their GV80 through a normal Hyundai dealership? Thanks,

Think I have just answered my question....just further down on threads is one commenting on Genesis vehicle service from general Hyundai dealerships....some not so good.

Hope the Hyundai dealership in Kelowna is a good one for Genesis support and service.

I think it's really going to depend on the dealership in general.

I think you'd want to try and find one that's independent if you can though.

You're right, certainly dependent on the dealership. As I mentioned, unfortunately not an independent Genesis dealer anywhere near us, so if you want a Genesis vehicle then Hyundai it is. Appears to have a good reputation.

How many other Hyundai dealers are close enough to you?

Its going to help that today vehicles require less frequent servicing. Curious to know what service 1 experience is like.

There is one other Hyundai dealership near us, however they do not sell Genesis vehicles and do not know if they are authorized to service a Genesis car. Do not believe their reputation is any better from what I understand. Not saying the Hyundai/Genesis shared dealership is not good, however, definitely not like our Lexus dealership where I currently take our car.....Lexus service is different from Toyota. The Hyundai/Genesis dealership may try hard to please......hope they do.
