Have any of you experienced any issues trying to get your car to recognize your phone? When we hook up any of our phones via USB, it kind of flashes Android Auto, then it turns back off.

We have watched several videos as well as followed the manual exactly, and we can't get it to work.

My wife took it to the dealership today, and the service manager couldn't figure it out either. He navigated the screens to where you enable Android auto, and the selection wasn't there. He asked us to give him a day or two to research the problem.

We have not completed the Genesis Connected services yet. He guessed or hoped rather, that perhaps when we complete that set up the system may do an over the air update and enable the Android Auto.

Fingers crossed 馃

Anyone else had this problem?

This will almost certainly be a USB cable quality issue. It's a common known problem and the trick is to find a good quality cable. I had the same problem. I have a Samsung S21 Ultra it didn't do anything when connected. I found the cable that came with the phone and Bam! everything works perfect!

Agreed - the cable must be high quality. The $20 for 5 cables on Amazon are hit or miss on the data lines and are usually really small wire gauge. Using the one that comes with your phone, or a higher quality one will work. Look for something that promises android auto will work, and return it if it does not work.

If anyone is looking into a wireless Android Auto solution, there are a couple of options. Well there are a few options but these two are the most promising at the moment (only problem is - with the ongoing chip shortage, delivery dates are pushed back substantially, currently the latest gen of either build is pushed to Jan 2022 delivery).

You guys were right. We tried several of the cords that came with the phones to no avail. Found a higher end data cable, and now it works flawlessly. Thanks!
