Have any of you experienced any issues trying to get your car to recognize your phone? When we hook up any of our phones via USB, it kind of flashes Android Auto, then it turns back off.

We have watched several videos as well as followed the manual exactly, and we can't get it to work.

My wife took it to the dealership today, and the service manager couldn't figure it out either. He navigated the screens to where you enable Android auto, and the selection wasn't there. He asked us to give him a day or two to research the problem.

We have not completed the Genesis Connected services yet. He guessed or hoped rather, that perhaps when we complete that set up the system may do an over the air update and enable the Android Auto.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Anyone else had this problem?

Agreed - the cable must be high quality. The $20 for 5 cables on Amazon are hit or miss on the data lines and are usually really small wire gauge. Using the one that comes with your phone, or a higher quality one will work. Look for something that promises android auto will work, and return it if it does not work.

If anyone is looking into a wireless Android Auto solution, there are a couple of options. Well there are a few options but these two are the most promising at the moment (only problem is - with the ongoing chip shortage, delivery dates are pushed back substantially, currently the latest gen of either build is pushed to Jan 2022 delivery).

Does android auto stop for you if you leave the phone plugged in after the vehicle is off and you open the door? Mine keeps going no matter what, and it seems to make the phone overheat if I leave it in the car for a few hours or more. The next day the phone will have an Android Auto error. When AA does work, it sometime flashed on and off randomly. I'm just trying to figure out it is normal for AA to to continue when the car is off. No other car that I have driven with AA continues one the car is off and the door is opened.

So I went out to the GV70 and tried to simulate your problem. I put my S10 Android 11, with AA version 6.9.613724. (settings has Resume Media ON and Wireless Auto ON) Plugged in phone, started engine, started AA. Showed map and played music from TuneIn app. Turned off car and got out. Got back in and checked phone with the car off. AA was off. Now I do have "Start Android While Locked" =OFF. And I have my phone unlock when connected to the Bluetooth of the Car. This is "SMART LOCK/ TRUSTED Devices /GV70." So I cannot confirm your problem. My phone turns off AA when I turn off the car. I got in and checked it. Now AA DOES restart and so does the music I was playing when I get back in and start the car. Of course I suggest checking Google Play for Updates and if you have any Android software updates, do that. My older versions of AA DID indeed not stop when I turned off my XT5 a year ago. I would take the phone into the house, and AA was still running. But with the latest AA, it now stops when I shut down the car.

Regarding Cables, I had to buy a short 1ft cable from Amazon. My cable that worked in my XT5 for AA did not work in GV70. This one is Red to match my interior! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083V2D4QK/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_ZPYDCEZ8GSSJTJG0AYVW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
