Two months after this much anticipated SUV comes out and there are still no full reviews of his thing in the US. Genesis Canada seemed to be able to at least get the GV70 into the video journalist hands. None here except for amateur dudes at the car lots. It's very strange that there are no full reviews out yet. Even Car and Driver didn't get one long enough to do a fuel economy test. Genesis marketing dropped the ball here big time.

I agree with the answers of "don't feed the hype machine when you can't sell it" that others have replied, but...

Genesis Canada is still working through the 2.5T pre-orders AFAIK (not sure if there are 3.5TT buyable today), while the inventory checker shows at least some 2.5T (and more 3.5TT) on the lots (no inventory checker here). Either Genesis US needs to get moving on this, or Genesis Canada was overly aggressive with the hype early on. Or a bit of both.

I may be wrong about no buyable inventory in Canada (at least of 2.5T), www.bankstreethyundai.com (the Hyundai dealer next door to the Ottawa Genesis dealer) actually shows Genesis as a brand on their inventory checker, and right now they're showing 7 GV70 -- 1*2.5T Prestige and [email protected]*3.5TT Sport and Sport Plus. I don't know how that relates to the Genesis dealer, and the 2.5T is Black (doesn't say interior) which isn't what I wanted. But it's possible there are a few?

Note that Genesis in Ottawa is the only one between Montreal and Toronto, so they're covering a wide area even if not as tightly packed as (say) south Florida. :)

There are more GV70's on dealer lots here in the US than many other new release vehicles that have had full reviews. Cars like the new Acura TLX S type, the new Jeep products heck even the Hyundai Santa Cruz baby truck has had full reviews here and I don't think they are even on the lots yet.

Genesis filled the pipeline on the GV70 early and heavily all things considered. Hyundai is not as impacted by the chip shortage as others. All they needed was a few test vehicles as they get passed around between the journalists. I'm sticking with somebody screwed up.
