From the posts I've seen over the past little while it seems like most people have chosen the 3.5L turbo V6 over the 2.5L turbo.

Has anyone ordered/bought a 2.5T GV80? I'm interested to hear how it performs outside of the articles I've read.

I'm looking into the 2.5T after seeing not so great real-world MPG ratings. At 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque (the latter peaking from just 1,300 rpm), performance is enough for me and reviews of it seem to agree.

For the most part, It performs very good when I need it to. I have not really tried to open it up. I don't know if I changed the drive settings but sometimes when I need to make a quick turn or speed up from a dead stop It does not do it as fast as I would like but other times it does. I do not touch the drive settings too much so I'm not sure if It does it on its own or because I changed the drive settings from sport to custom to economy.

I use the cruise control lane assist constantly and I find the mileage I get is very good.

I loved mine I never tested either engine so I don't have much context to compare it. I had an atlas vt 276 ponies and the 300 is why more responsive I don't need 6.0 take offs, not gonna try racing Porsche or BMW so I think its just peachy for 6 plus grand less I constantly read about the 3.5 being more refined but my gold coast 2.5 prestige is Super Refined !

@JJC, @mansamusa and @jgreen7756 how do you guys find it to be in everyday situations that call for more power, like overtaking a slow vehicle to get ahead, etc.? Just curious because only so much of that can be understood from specs alone.
For me, when I anticipate needing more umph, i put it in sport, no problem overtaking anything.

Truth be told, I'm still breaking it in, so I'm trying to avoid gunning it to that point...I can say it gets spunkier in sport than comfort, but I'm not one to floor a car to accelerate that hard....Plus... gearing seems quite smooth.

Do you know roughly what kind of mpg you're getting?
