My wife is a little nervous about parking the GV80 in the garage when we get it. Will the Self Parking Option park it in a garage? Or is the technology designed for parking lot and parallel parking scenarios only? (Not for entering or exiting a garage)

I believe it can park in a garage with the push of a button on the remote. Also only select packages offer the auto park feature.

I ordered my GV80 with the Prestige Package so it's equipped with self parking but I've never seen a video anywhere showing self parking cars entering or exiting a garage. They only demonstrate them parallel parking or parking in a lot.
We'll see...

There is a button on the remote to manually move the car forward and backwards.

True, but my concern about it not working in a residential garage is that the sensors may be fooled by the walls on the sides of the garage somehow fooling the car and preventing it from entering into the garage.

It shouldn't be an issue if the function of those buttons are to manually move the car in and out of parking spaces with cars on each side of your vehicle.

Good point, hope it knows when to stop as it approaches the front wall but doesn't stop too far away where I can't close the garage door. I haven't seen any info how close it can approach a wall in front before it stops.

I did try the self parking feature for entering and exiting my garage and I got a notification on the display stating the area is too tight for the Self Parking Feature to operate. Not a big deal as my wife has mastered getting in and out of the garage on her own. I haven't tried it anywhere else though, how about you?
