Glad you figured it out. I can’t remember ever having turned my ignition off in any car wash. They usually have signs or tell you to leave the engine running and put it in neutral. I recommend anyone attempting to go through the car wash for the first time to try the Neutral engagement procedure in a safe space like your driveway (not close to the garage door). The GV80 cluster display will give you confirmation when it’s done right. Below is a YouTube video that I watched before I did it the first time. It is helpful for first timers. BTW just like for any car going through a car wash, be sure to turn off the windshield wiper rain sensor function off before hand too. And it’s also a good idea to retract the motorized side mirrors. The less anything sticks out to catch hold of the spinning car wash rags, the better.

Hi. I’ve never done a blog so I hope this works. I’ve had my GV80 for 6 weeks And love it but I have one glitch and I’m hoping someone can help. When taking the car through an automated car wash I held the ok button like it said. This is supposed to keep the car in neutral While being propelled through the car wash. However, when the rollers hit the tires, the parking break goes on and won’t release until I put it in drive and then it can’t go through the wash. I’ve managed to get it to work but only after pushing many buttons and then no one knows what worked. Does anyone know the sequence of button pushes?
I have experienced the same issue with my new GV70 during a Carwash when the parking brake comes as soon as the conveyor belt grabs the tire while the gear is in Neutral.

I went to the Genesis service centre and the technician said that the sensor is triggered by the tire being pulled. I inquired if the parking break can be released but he says that it will engage again during the Carwash

This morning I tested the car wash by “disabling” the skid control. Looks like this solved the problem, the car glided thru the entire Carwash cycle without a hitch. Let me monitor in upcoming Carwashes, to see if this really solve this problem?

If all fails, avoid the Carwashes with the conveyor belt. There is another system where the car is stationary and the sprayer and washing equipment go around the car.

I’m in Toronto with winter months, washing by hand is not an option unfortunately.

yep, just did my first car wash yesterday. just make sure the window wipers are set to off, leave the engine on, dial to neutral and make SURE to unlock the auto brake hold and that's it...Easy peasy!

2023 Prestige- Not a direct solution but I did appreciate that my dealer applied ceramic coating! Taking my GV-80 to a 'bay' car wash with hand sprayer mounted overhead...sprayed soap suds over the entire vehicle then using high pressure plane water, all the road dirt spray that was caked onto the vehicle came off and it looked like it was just polished!
