Not my experience. My GV70 will stop me and warn me if I might hit something from the front.

Note that several of the settings offer three options from no warning, to warning to assist. I personally don't want my car to take over for me, so I don't use assist, but I definitely do appreciate warnings.

Same with my GV70 and it’s set for Active Assist. I’m thinking we got lemons because this is such a basic safety feature that’s probably standard for all new cars now. I have no choice but to take it back to Cerritos Genesis, where I hope I will get better customer service than my last couple awful experiences. I’m very disappointed, Genesis - if you want to play with the big boys, then you gotta bring your a game and I don’t see it.
