Has anyone installed a dash cam in their GV80. If so, what type, did you hard wire?

Do a search and you will find a few threads. I have not installed mine yet (Nor purchased one) but I did buy this wiring tap for the mirror. I read about this on Facebook and other GV80 forums. Several people have used this on their GV80's. This makes wiring your dash cam a 5 minutes process.
Let us know how you make out and which camera you buy.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B7WND1G2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thinking about getting one for the back window since there is a power outlet there. Didn't have to hardwire. It comes with a tool to push it under the roof liner and side panels, then under the glove box, and plugged in where the small cubby section between the passenger and driver seat outlet is.
Yes, I did. I think it's the Cobra brand and plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet under the console, and it adheres to the windshield with a small suction cup to the right of the mirror. I ran the low voltage wire above the passenger side visor, and underneath the rubber weather-stripping along the inside of the door opening, all the way down, to next to the passenger seat, then under the seat to the lower middle console, where it plugs into the outlet. The rubber weather stripping is easily lifted with a fingernail or small flat screwdriver, then returned to its position. The wire is almost entirely hidden, and the unit works fine. I have not set up a rear cam but imagine it could be done in a similar fashion.

I just hung my new Valentine one on the mirror, there are several mounting options available to mount your detector/dash cam off the mirror stalk, this is the same process I've done on all our vehicles. They are available on Amazon and there are kits for others like Unden etc., as well as a hard wire kit to negate the cord to the cigarette lighter under the console. Much better than stuck to the windshield in my opinion.

Can you post a link for the item you are referring to please?
There are several available this is the one I've purchased and still use, pick the one that you like, be aware there is a plastic sleeve on the mirror stalk, you'll need to remove to use one these kits, but it simply just slides off it is not physcally attached with any hardwear. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I didn't use the hardwire kit, but I will when I have a moment to do it.
Hey, thanks for that. I was hoping it was for a front-view camera that mounts under the rearview mirror, not a radar detector. Thanks again. I'll keep looking.

Thank you VERY much. I'm proceeding to the next step by purchasing on AMAZON.
