I preordered my GV80 in Feb 2020. My dealer can not give me a delivery date. I do not understand because GV80s are being delivered. The dealer is in Flowood, MS. Any help would be appreciated.
Genesis does not have an official pre-order system. The website just said that to help hype up the cars. You cannot order one to be made specific to you. Genesis just makes a lot of cars, ships them, and the dealers can see what is coming on the manifest. If you want the car, you just have to be the first one there when it gets off the transport truck.

That’s not how it worked, at least in Canada. I was the first person in the country to put a deposit down, the dealership requested my specific build in their first allotment, I was given tracking updates along the way, and it was held to be delivered to me specifically. I wasn’t standing there scrambling for it off the truck.

Genesis Canada has an amazing setup. They essentially run everything centrally as I understand. It's the benefit of a smaller customer base.

This is how it was for me as well. Although they waited for me to put the deposit down until the car was at port in the US. My name was on the car from the date of request by the dealership last June.

The dealer let me order the exact car that I wanted and has reported that it was being made, on a ship and in San Diego.

Is your dealer a stand alone Genesis dealer or a Hyundai/Genesis combo? There are reports of problems with servicing etc, from the combo dealers. The plan is to get Genesis to become a stand alone brand.

Here's a good article about how Genesis sells their cars in Canada compared to the US.

Genesis, meanwhile, remains the only mainstream company that will allow you to buy a car completely online. You can shop online, configure the car online, and even, in an industry first, can call for a personal test drive that starts at your work or home. All arranged online. In fact, thanks to Genesis at Home, you may never have to step into a dealership again, the company offering to pick up your car (and leave a loaner) when your G70, G80, or G90 needs service.

And it’s a program — as I keep repeating because of our national inferiority complex — completely Canadian. Motoinsight, the Toronto-based company that pulled all this digital hocus-pocus together, is supplying its MotoCommerce platform to Genesis Australia, and more importantly, according to insiders, is in a position to supply the same platform to Genesis USA. In other words — cue rampant chest-beating here — Canada is on the cusp of being the leader in a revolution that is about to sweep the auto industry.

According to Mark Del Rosso, the CEO who overseas Genesis operations in both Canada and the U.S., this is because the States is eager to bring the at Home service to the largest luxury auto market in the world. Del Rosso can already see a time when such concierge services become the norm rather than the exception in the automaker/consumer relationship, and he is eager to extend the Genesis omni-channel to the U.S. Unlike his Canadian counterparts, who were able to implement the program on brand-new, well, brand, Del Rosso however has to contend with years of entrenched modus operandi — not to mention America’s more stringent franchise laws — which makes it markedly more difficult to implement a top-down online program that could be seen, in the eyes of dealers already worried about their post-coronavirus future, as competing for their ever more online-focused customers.

I reserved a GV80 back in February. I wasn't going to buy the car till I saw it, which I did in early December. I want the Cardiff Green with Green Interior and they had none on the way, so I ordered it. They told me 60 to 90 days for the delivery. I'm interested in hearing from others that ordered the car. My order process is being handled through email, not really used to the lack of contracts, etc... Anyone else seeing this? I have emails confirming the price, trade value for my Lexus, etc... but I'm used to Lexus, Audi, BMW where the contracts spell everything on. Your experience???

Congrats on ordering your GV80 @MDScotti! Have you given a deposit or anything to your dealer?

Yes, $3k at the end of Dec.
We put a $2,500 deposit down for 3.5T Prestige Green on Green in November 2020. Was given approximate delivery date of 1/28/21 and then sent an email at beginning of January stating delivery will now be at end of February. Read where a Prestige buyer who left deposit in June 2020 was recently notified by their dealer they will be getting a 2022 model in June of this year.

Wondering if anyone else has a 2021 Prestige on order and have been notified they will be getting a 2022?

Green on Green GV80's are turning out to be quite the rare bird. I've only seen one listed for sale, and it might have been an error. If I didn't sit in one at the Chicago Auto Show last year, I don't know if I'll ever see one in the wild.

Genesis GV70 / GV80 group on Facebook, two people Shy and Leah have posted their Green on Green GV80's (a little jealous). What is concerning is that Gerry posted "...I put $500 down in June to reserve a GV80 (Prestige, Adriatic Blue/Dune). Now my dealer (Bergstrom of Appleton, WI) says that although I was supposed to get it this month, Genesis is doing just one more "run" (if that is what it is called) of 2021 GV80s, my vehicle won't be in it, and I will get a 2022 in June..."
