I put a deposit on a 2022 GV80 on Feb 2, 2022 in Florida. The dealer gave me the full sheet on the vehicle with all the details - interior and exterior colors, package, features, etc. They told me it was due for delivery in the dealership by the 3/28/22 - maybe earlier. Every time I call to check they tell me the date is delayed again. The latest is by 5/15/22. I have no confidence that they have any clue when it will be there or, if they do, they are lying to me and stringing me along. Can anybody shed any light on the real story on deliveries of GV80s in the USA?

Do you have, or will the dealer provide, a VIN number? That is the only proof that the car is built & in transit somewhere.
With no VIN, I doubt you will see your GV80 until fall at the earliest. AND the dealer is string you along.
If that is the case, you would be better off getting your deposit back and searching, countrywide, for your choice. Airfare, lodging, & gas are less than many dealers charge for "market adjustment", but even if you find one at MSRP, you'll be 6-8 months ahead of the game.
Just my humble opinion!

A nationwide search is how I ended up putting down $ on this vehicle. All any dealer in the country has is allocations of specific 2022 gv80s (as to colors and package) for some prospective future date and there are never VINs at the time of deposit because they are all locked up by buyers before they are even in manufacturing. Dealer websites will show that they have certain ones “in stock” but it is only pictures of the ones they were allocated. Even then, when you check the dealer, usually somebody has already locked them in. The VIN number is available only when it’s coming off the line to ship so once they have that they can determine the delivery date with relative certainty and track it’s location. I’ve got a call into Genesis USA to investigate the situation but from my research, you can sometimes find new gv70s on the lot (I drove one) but never gv80s. I’ve been all over this with Genesis and various dealers before I locked this one in. I was completely prepared to go anywhere to pick up the vehicle but you can’t. Do you know something other than what I’ve said above?

All I KNOW is that some dealerships have some GV80 stock to sell. Where & for how much, I do NOT know without a deep search of the internet and phone calls.
I have read that the Genesis Consierge can locate a vehicle for you if you care to try that in addition to your personal search.

What I am positive if is that I went to a dealership to just look & show the wife. They had one in stock ('21 GV80 3.5T Advanced Plus AWD, Himalayan Gray) that we fell in love with and bought, at MSRP, on the spot. Apparently we were extremely lucky!

Good luck & happy hunting.

I ordered my GV80 in March 2021 with a August delivery target. It then moved to September 15 and then mid-October and I picked it up Oct 4. I think they give the best estimate they can, but with the chip shortage and other supply issues, it is really a guea. I was told I would need to wait 6 months when I ordered it. I have had no issues with it and will have my first check-up this month. It was worth the wait to get the specific color combination and trim I wanted. I get tons of compliments everywhere I go. I was a Lexus owner for 20 years before buying this and have not regretted it.

I test drove the GV 80 5 times at a local dealership over a period of a couple of times: they had the largest inventory at the time of black and grey ones…not my favorite combo. Inventory was way low last summer. They did not have the color combo I was looking for. I did Tell the salesperson I wanted one of the cars and was about to put a deposit down on a specific one I ordered. However, as luck would have it, someone who had put a deposit down on a specific color, etc. decided they had to wait too long to get it and backed out. The sales person offered it to me. That was how I got mine. It took a couple of months. To actually get EXACTLY what you want is very difficult. I’d say to tell them you are open to any color combo (pick a few) and see where that goes. Might be faster…

I attempted to purchase a 2021 GV80 January of last year, and had the same dealer experience you are having. After 5 weeks of no information, I went online to cars.com and input exactly what trim level ( prestige); color; and interior. I found 4 matches in the US at that time, first two were sold, third was at the dealership in Long Island NY ( I’m in Orlando FL); called them and made a deal over the phone, and the hired Roadrunner transport to deliver the car, which they did exceptionally well. Good hunting!

Thanks. I see now you are talking 2021s and I’m talking 2022s. I’ve done everything, hours and hours of internet and phone calls, including the Genesis Concierge service and there are no 2022 gv80s on lots anywhere that aren’t already locked in by deposit by a buyer like me. It’s just taking forever for the vehicle to get through the process as supply chain spit has hit the fan. Thanks for your thoughts.

I was trying to do the same thing. 2022 is a different story, I guess. Even with the help of the Concierge service, none were physically available anywhere except the ones for pickup by people who had already put a deposit on them before production as I ultimately had to do. It was hard even finding a dealer with an allocation for one with the specific features that I wanted. Now I wait through supply chain delays with everybody else that’s locked in one of these allocations. Oh well! It’s the way of the world right now.

I am so over trying to locate. The click-bait on line with dealers implying in adds the availability of a car, coming in on such a date, and then being 100% for each call...."the car is spoken for already, just infuriates me. Then get it off of the damned advertisement, and don't waste my time (or yours for that matter). I was told that they wouldn't sell it out of state by a Florida dealer, and then I said can I title it at my Florida address. When we agreed I asked about the car with the vin number in my line of vision. He said...That is sold. I gave up effective this morning and ordered one from a dealer 4 miles from me at MSRP. I am even thinking of waiting until the demand subsides and the supply improves and all the dealers charging MSRP + Market adjustments can go to ****. They are fleecing the public with this approach, and although supply and demand, I won't play this game.

I was basically in the same boat. Gave a deposit to a S. Florida dealer in October with a "supposed" Dec. delivery. Every month I was told "maybe next month". In April I found the exact 2022 3.5 Prestige car i wanted at another S. Florida dealer and 2 days later I had the car and got my deposit back. The lesson is you have to do allot of legwork. I found my car by regularly checking all the local (and some not so local) dealers web sites and my car came off the truck the night before I checked. I drove right over, negotiated the deal and took delivery 2 days later. These cars are being delivered you just have to do a bunch of legwork to find them though, crazy times.
