I've been in close communication with my Dealer here in British Columbia, and have been scoping out some of the other dealers, especially in Ontario.

Noticed that Genesis Markham has one on display at their showroom.
Would be curious if anyone has seen it in real life if you are out there?

They are saying Canadian pricing will be released around May and deliveries in June. I expect for us in the Western provinces, likey we're looking at July deliveries. Wheel Car Tire Land vehicle Vehicle

@GenesisFan

Given I've been lurking google and youtube for any news here in Canada, I think your hypothesis around it being a pre-production model is likely correct.

A number of automotive journalists in Canada had a chance to look at what looks like the same vehicle - when it was at Genesis' Mississauga head office location.
For example:

Definitely going to ask my local dealer about this!
Bring it up to your dealer and see what you can find out!

So it does seem like they have limited time and space to show people the GV70 before it's gone.
Appreciate you checking in with them. I figure for us folks in BC, we'll likely get the pre-production model later than the rest of Canada.
I was speaking with my Genesis experience manager, and he was suggesting they are prioritizing showing the vehicle to pre-order customers vs walk-ins. I was one of the first to put down a deposit - so here's to hoping I can do a deeper dive soon.

To be very honest - I was curious about the 2022 Tucson and was surprised to some of the features trickle down, like the smart parking assist, and overall larger interior dimensions from what the reviewers from Korea are reporting. Not saying the two are comparable, but the new Tuscon is compelling and competitive.

Hoping to see and drive the 3.5T Sport Plus with the Red Nappa leather that I pre-ordered, before making a final call.

Hey everyone - so we just got our invite to the launch event at our local Genesis dealer here in Vancouver.
Here's what the email looks like.

Will be going in next week to see the car in person!
I have to say - we saw the 2022 Tucson yesterday and it is a compelling if not competitive product to the GV70.

Had the chance to see a pre-production model in person last week.

I have to say the GV70 was much larger than we had anticipated. For context, we are coming from a Kia Stinger GT Limited, which by itself is not a small car by any means.
Here are some photos I snapped and the Brochure the Genesis brand manager provided to us electronically, here in Canada.

I honestly don't understand the pricing strategy in Canada.

In the US it makes total sense and it is actually reasonably priced in comparison to the competition.
The 3.5T AWD Sport Prestige is priced at $62,500.
In Canada, the same spec is a whopping $75,500

Meanwhile, you can get an Audi SQ5 for under $72,000. And a Mercedes Benz AMG GLC 43 for Close to $70,000 loaded.

Doesn't make any sense - might as well get a GV80.
