Welp, I tried to test drive a GV70 today or possibly put a deposit on one en route.
Unfortunately their last GV70 was just sold, BUT luckily one of the consultants gave me a few minutes to play with one they still were working on. This was my first time seeing the GV70 up close and personal in the flesh.
Now, unfortunately, I couldn't drive it but I could sit in it, mess around with the controls, buttons, take some photos and get a feel for it.
Some thoughts:
1. Wow, this car has serious presence. Especially in the 3.5 Sport Prestige, the upgraded wheels and Sport appearance is downright powerful looking yet also very luxurious and unique.
2. I kinda already expected this but it must be reiterated: The materials and finish feel WAY above the segment it's in. I've been in several ~$60k vehicles before but this car absolutely feels like it's worth every penny and then some. It's one thing to see the videos and pictures, but then you feel the steering wheel, you see the screen, the feel the controls, you see the stitching...etc.
3. The Seville red interior is definitely a winner. Look, I have my heart SET on finding an Ultramarine blue interior GV70 3.5. However, if it's going to be a real pain in a neck to find, I'd have no issue with the red/black interior combo. I thought it'd feel like any other car I've seen with red interior colors but this feels and looks a lot different and I would definitely consider this interior choice, even though it's not my 1st option.
Overall--Even though I didn't get a chance to drive the car, judging on its proportions, what I've seen so far, I really don't see a 'need' to test drive it to know that it's what I want.
Now I just gotta frigging wait another 3-4 months until I can order the spec I really want or find a halfway reasonable enough dealer that isn't over1000 miles away that might have something close to it.
