Hello - I’m interested in the GV70 however have concerns about the front license plate position. It is a requirement to have a front license plate in my state and all images I have seen have the license plate essentially on the bottom/middle of grill. Seems odd though as the front grill seems like something that you would not want to cover with a plate. Any insight if the front plate does actually cover the grill and if yes, does anyone know of any option accessory to potentially attached the plate below the grill? Thanks in advance!

If I were you I'd post your state on this board and ask for feedback from same state people as to how vigorously the front plate requirement is enforced .It's on the books in some states but never enforced. It's a shame to cover that gorgeous grill if it's not absolutely necessary.

In my state of Washington, it's also a requirement, however I was told that state patrol wouldn't be pulling people over just for that reason alone..now watch suddenly I'll be proven wrong ..

I live in Jersey and I'm considering removing the front plate and just keeping it in my glove box or beneath the cargo area. Willing to take the risk and if I get a ticket I'll officially accept defeat on the matter and throw the plate back on. I brought the question up to my Genesis dealer when I took delivery. He was pretty candid that a lot of folks end up removing it. Also mentioned that they're hearing Jersey may get rid of the front plate requirement in ~1.5 years. Who knows; probably just hearsay.

But regardless, does anyone know how to best remove the front plate bracket? Looks like there are four clips. Does it just take a strong tug to remove or do I need to use a tool?

EDIT***** Figured it out fairly quickly - please disregard!
