Fuel door not opening

Anyone have an issue with the fuel door not opening?
At dealer and they are stumped, can’t find a release in the cargo area, like you’d expect to have.
Thanks!!

I thought it was just the fuel door that was not opening, not the car unlocking. Have I misunderstood this?
No, I read it the same way as you because I had an issue with my fuel door as well. The car unlocks, so we can get to the screwdriver if needed...lol

With the engine on and all doors locked, manually unlock the door by pushing the unlock button on the door handle before you shut off the engine. Shut off the engine, try to open the fuel door. It should work.
I read on a GV80 facebook page a few days ago that a dealer told someone with an issue, that there is a little opening that you can remove the cover from on the left side of the trunk to expose a fuse panel. They said to unplug the red wire and that should allow you to open the fuel door.. My car doesn't have this issue so I have no clue whether it works or not but I did try locking the car and see if it would open when locked and it did not. Then when I plugged the red cable back in, I heard the motors in the hatch lock running so I don't think that had anything to do with the fuel door but it is just for the hatch.
I thought I would pass this along just incase it will work is you have this issue. But I have a screwdriver at the ready.😁

Here is another thing to do if you have this problem and can get it open. A dealer put a clip on someones plunger to stop it from locking. To be quite honest, if the door will still open and close, this might be the way to go as I couldn't care less if my door locks. If someone is going to steal my gas, the can just pop open the door with any tool at hand so let them have it without any damage to my car.

Be sure to understand this about the Fuel Filler Door:
To OPEN it:
1. Turn the engine off. 2. Ensure the driver’s door is unlocked. 3. Push the fuel filler door near the 3 o’clock position.
To CLOSE it:
The fuel filler door will not close if the driver’s door is locked. If you lock the driver’s door while fueling, unlock it before closing the fuel filler door.
My 2021 GV80 had this issue about a month ago. It cleared up on its own and works fine now. When it did get stuck, I simply toggled the on/off buttons on inside driver's door about 4 times and then it would open.
Still having trouble opening the fuel filler door! All doors are unlocked but the fuel filler door remains locked. Tried the key fob, which worked in the past, but does not work now. Last fuel fill I had to start the engine several times before the door would release from the lock.
I called Genesis but they had no idea, said they would look into it but never heard back from them.
Appears to become more erratic every day. I have to start thinking about refilling when the dial shows half full.
Mine isn’t opening now

Nope

I have read that you should lock and unlock your door until it works. It might take a lot of tries. Not first hand experience, just what I have read somewhere.

Thanks I opened and closed everything. Turned everything on and off. Finally worked

It seems that there are a lot of bugs with this car, I'm kind of glad I waited, looking at X5 instead.

I've actually been looking at the X6... but honestly, comparing the two with similar or the same features, the GV70 is way less. I'm still on the fence.
