Winter here in Newfoundland Canada.

Pull into gas station, turn off vechile and yes unlocked doors and gas tank cover wont open and cant even pry it open. No ice around it. Anyone have a hack/fix or is this a common issue?

This had been an issue with this car. Weather has nothing to do with it. Many reports on Facebook GV80 pages, and other Forums. You need a new actuator. The best recommendation I have seen, is to lock and unlock the car and try it again. The cover will not open when the car is locked and doing that will attempt to release the lock. You may have to do this several times.

Is it me, or have people noticed a lot of glitches with the operation of this car? I am inclined to go with an X5 instead of the GV80 which I have been considering.

Can't speak for others, but I've had no problems in the 2+ yrs I've owned my GV80. It's likely human nature to post comments more often when someone is dissatisfied with something, than they are when satisfied, which might lead to inaccurate conclusions. I've had many other lux brands too, and except for Lexus which never presented me with a problem, I experienced problems with every brand -- (Jag, BMW, Merc, etc.) and they were all new cars.

I have had mine for 1 year with no issues at all. (Well, one minor issue with the app locating my car at times) this is the place where people come when they have issues with their car. They will google the issue and be directed to this forum. So yes, you will see a lot of issues. (agreeing with Jayp)

I’ve had my GV80 for two years now, and have had a few issues. Mostly one-offs though. Leaky sunroof needed replacement, the gas cap issue sometimes, and ill-fitting floor mats.
But, that said, I really like my car and already plan on getting a 2024 version when my lease is up next year.

I ran into this problem a couple of days ago for the first time. I'm in FL, so it's not weather related, and until now, I've not had any issue getting the tank hatch open. What I did to resolve this, is simply release the lock button located at the driver's side armrest. I must have pushed it in error, but releasing it unlocked my tank hatch.
