Following in the footsteps of the Essentia, Genesis has confirmed that a new EV concept will be making an appearance at the New York Auto Show. There aren't many details in regards to what this new concept will be, but they Genesis says a dedicated EV platform is around two years away. The Essentia is without a doubt one of the most unique and surprising concepts that I've seen at an autoshow recently. I know the head boss of Genesis really wants to get it confirmed for production, but they may have more luck with an electric crossover, given the interest in them as of late.

Diversification will be a key strategy for Genesis as they continue to roll out new models like the G70. If they can actually deliver something like the Essentia in production, I wouldn't be surprised if down the line they become a dedicated EV brand.

As long as they diversify with enough SUV's, CUV's and crossovers, then Genesis will be doing well.

Still not a fan of how much they prioritized sedans.
