J.D. Power unveiled its 2019 APEA Study and Genesis tied for second place with BMW. Genesis joined a top 5 that included Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Volvo. With their SUVs coming out soon, it's possible we can see Genesis close the gap with Porsche.

Most Genesis models out now are aging and soon a whole new vehicle line up will be here. Hopefully Genesis can hold their ranking in the years ahead.

I don't see why not. What's the concern?

Soon the GV70 will be out, giving us a first look. I heard it could still use the G70's 2.0T engine in base versions.
That engine is GREAT, no complaints, like the rest of the vehicle.
I don't see why Genesis can't maintain its high standing and close the gap with Porsche. Especially with the new SUVs sharing similarities with the sedans, as GenesisFan said.

Getting closer to Porsche comes with its concerns by way of new tech, powertrains and a lot that doesn't exist in current models.

That's true, but this survey "measures owners’ emotional attachment and level of excitement with their new vehicle." So I don't think Genesis has to make major changes in order to raise their score. I think it will grow as more people get used to Genesis as a brand.
I just don't see enough being offered at the moment especially during a time so many changes are happening elsewhere and not accounted for in this survey.

Porsche is owned by VW who owns Audi and other well performing brands. Genesis cannot keep up.
You might be right.
Genesis is said to be launching a bunch of crossovers and suv's.
After seeing them, then i'll decide if Genesis is on track to keep up.

I think a lot of us will be impressed. Spy shots of the first of many SUV's to come is looking very promising!

Another impressive aspect for Genesis is they just hired ex-Lamborghini chief designer Filippo Perini as Chief Designer at the Genesis Advanced Design Studio in Europe.

Impressive move.
Only problem is while he's a design guy, limitations from say the Genesis finance team can hinder his ability to pull off certain things.
One can only hope we get elegant SUV's and Sedan's.

G70 was a good start and naturally models that follow would be an evolution of the design.

I'm confident he'll be able to design some elegant vehicles for Genesis, even with the normal financial strains.
