Not much is known yet about the Genesis GV70 at the time of this post, but here's what I've gathered! The Genesis GV70 and GV80 will likely share much of their architecture, all of their engines, and probably more parts we don't know yet. However, Genesis has remarked in the past that each of its models will feature unique styling on their own, and not follow the "one sausage, three lengths" approach of German luxury automakers, where all the models look the same. So expect the GV70 to have a unique front end design compared to the GV80 -- despite the parts sharing, the GV70 likely won't look like a simply shorter GV80. The spy photo below shows a sloping window trim that is very different from the GV80.

The GV70 will be a smaller crossover/SUV compared to the GV80, with the GV70 sharing architecture with the G70 sedan. This means rear wheel drive, and probably the same engines as the G70, including a 252 hp 2.0L four-cylinder and an optional 365 hp twin-turbo V6. Although the G70 features an optional manual transmission, the GV70 will nearly certainly only be available with an 8-speed automatic. All-wheel-drive will be optional, and likely improve sales in colder climates. All-wheel-drive may come standard on Canadian-market GV70. These engines and transmissions are expected to be the same powertrains as the GV80. A diesel GV70 will be available in markets outside North America. It's unknown whether a plug-in-hybrid GV70 will later become available.

The GV70 will offer two rows of seating, compared to three rows of seating in the Genesis GV80.
