GPS Map screen Randomly Changes by itself to screensaver mode and shows “Navigation currently unavailable”

I originally posted a reply to MDScotti’s post about his Map screen disappearing and switching by itself to the Icons Home Screen which I experienced in my GV80. Now it’s worse. Now after my GPS Map screen disappears, it proceeds to switch again by itself to another unwanted screen.

Now the GPS/Map screen further automatically changes itself to the screen saver (ie picture of the weather and temperature) with a warning on that screen saying “navigation currently unavailable.” I have never had that warning in any of my cars driving all the same routes. So it is definitely a car specific GPS/infotainment issue with the GV80. Being that it prevents me from using the GPS navigation system for my business trips, I consider this a very serious issue. For me it’s not just an annoyance. I would like to know if anyone has had this problem fixed for them and what was the cause and what was the fix? Thank you.

I do find it an annoyance that the screen switches to the screensaver, but mine does not prevent me from using the NAV. Try hitting the voice control on the steering wheel to see if it lets you set a destination?
I am also annoyed that sometimes hitting radio or other buttons does nothing. I have to bounce around to get to the screen I’m looking for.

I am also having the map screen switch to the Home screen constantly. Am also seeing Nav not available.

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes the destination can be set by voice, but there will be no navigation screen associated with it so I cannot see any map, cannot see where I currently am on the map, and don’t know what streets will be coming up and should be looking for. I.e., I might not have enough time to switch lanes and make a turn quick enough when the voice tells me to. Very frustrating.
