GPS upgrade issues

I have a 2021 GV80 3.5...About a month ago, I began getting a notice whenever I loaded in a new GPS destination that my software was out of date & it needed to be upgraded or the service would shut down...
I went through this in 2021, & began the - what I consider - archaic routine of downloading, transfering, etc etc...I went through the byzantine process somewhere over 20 times only to be told there were "no media files" on the inserted USB...
I reread instructions, dl'd to both my laptop & then transsfer to the USB, and then directly to a new 128GB stick, & kept getting the "no media" response...
Call concirerge, am told that the upgrade was not available yet, & would be available "mid-Nov"...I called on the 7th, asked for the availability date, & was told they didn't have one...Kept getting the warnings, called concierge back, & this time was told it was available, & to go into my dealer...Went there on the 13th, they fidled with it for about an hour, & then decided it wasn't yet available, & I would be notified when it could be had...This past Friday I'm heading out of town, load in a destination, & get nothing...It's stopped working just like it promised...
Called concierge again, was told that it "was available & some people were downloading it," with the little sweetheart implying neither I nor the dealership knew what we were doing...
It's Friday afternoon, call my dealership, no one knows crap, & I leave a message with the GM...Hopefully I'll find out if anyone knows anything about what needs to be done...
I'd been in BMWs since 1988, & while they weren't perfect, I never encountered such a lack of information at so many levels...It concerns me because I wonder if Hyundai has moved Genesis to the bottom of its priority list, focusing on their more popular lines of business...
Having been to this rodeo once, I know how tricky the upgrades can be, as with any software, but does anyone at Genesis know IF the upgrade is truly available?...
Anyone else experience anything like this?

Yes it is. I've done it. Get a USB stick and make sure it's clean. Go to their site and download it to the stick, start the car go to software update and install the stick. The car will do the rest.

Thanks for the tip. Is anyone else surprised this is not done automatically, especially in this day and age.

Cheers,
Mike
Thanks for the responses, everyone...
The car spoke the truth & when I loaded in a destination to go away for the weekend, I got crap...
Called concierge from the road to see what they suggest, & this time I'm told by a real charmer that "some people" have been downloading the update for a "couple of weeks"...When I explained I had already been sent to my dealer & they couldn't get it to DL either, I was reminded that "SOME people have been downloading it for A FEW weeks,"...Then I asked if she had a real date for the release her answer was "the middle of November" - this was on the 11th...
Obviously speaking with this brain trust was pointless, so I called the dealership & left a message with the GM that I had been screwing around with this for a month, including one visit to the dealership, & I was now forced to run around the NC mountains using WAZE propped up in my console...
Back in town, & get a vm from the gm that he had someone spend the day trying to get a clean download, & they finally succeeded around 5:30...
Glutton for punishment that I am, I tried it one more time, & ended up with a clean install about 1am Tuesday morning...
What have I learned?...First, the communication with dealerships by the Genesis piece of Hyundai is weak, at best...Everyone is focused on the more lucrative business channels, & Genesis is a very low priority...That generates a concern about Hyundai's commitment to the product line...
I'm on a 3-year lease, so have some leeway with regard to what I buy next, but I really think this is a gr8 automobile & would hate for them to drop the line...
Time will tell, but insuring the customers' happiness & performance satisfaction has always been at the forefront of the other luxury brands I have owned, like Benz & BMW...And I'm still trying to understand why the updates can't be delivered automatically via satellite, again exactly how Benz & BMW handle it...Would really like an answer to that one...

Got the same type of notices to update my GPS. It took a good hour to complete, and a bit of frustration. I found it important to use a brand-new USB and to have a lot of patience wondering if anything is actually happening. I tried using an existing USB (after erasing all the old files), but it would not accept that for downloading. I got a new USB, which then worked fine to complete the download. The USB download is done using your computer (or laptop). I did this several weeks ago, but as I recall, the files on the USB must be hidden, because my computer was unable to read that any files were present. When the download is done, insert the USB into the slot under the car radio. On my '21 GV80, that is the left most, USB (closest to the driver), color-coded blue, and labeled "SS". As I recall, I had to go to the car's System menu to start the download. Then, nothing happens on the screen for a good 10 minutes, before it begins to show that a download is taking place. Still another 30-40 minutes before it says it's finished. It is not a very user-friendly process, but I was able to complete it successfully.

Thank you. Then I'll check the same way you described.

i did an update which i thought was fine, but my wife’s stored seat memory went away and all my previous destinations on NAV went away including my home. Now i have to go to dealership to see if they can fix and recover the data.
