GV 60 heated seat

My GV60 has a problem with the passenger heated seat switch when I press it down it stays all the way down so then within a few seconds it turns its self off . If I am very careful I turn it on and then very carefully move the switch back up to the middle then its ok. I went to the dealership they said its because the weather is cold here they said they have heard of 2 or 3 cars doing the same . I did say well just replace it they said they have to look into it. For a car that cost $90k in Canada they had better look fast:) for me I think they should just order a new one. Has anybody else heard or come across this problem.

Maybe spray some electrical contact cleaner in there. Something like BW-100.

I have not used it, but I have seen others use it for things like gaming controllers.
I took delivery on my GV60 in late September and it has the same sticky passenger heated seat button. Mine behaves exactly as you described with yours.

I hadn’t talked with the Genesis dealer yet as we purchased the car in New Jersey and shipped it to our home in Nashville, TN. The local Genesis dealer can’t service it and can’t even order parts for the car.

I can say that this isn’t a cold weather issue, because it was 70 degrees when we took delivery of the car.

I’ll have to give the electrical contact cleaner suggestion a try.

Hello
Thank you for your input ,I did not try the cleaner as of yet as I did not want to do anything before Genesis had done there stuff I hope to hear more next week.
One other thing I have found out when I bought the car I asked about the snow mode they said they did not think it was on the GV 60 in Canada which did not make any sense to me as both the Kia EV 6 and the Ioniq 5 both have it , after watching lots of videos the cars that were in Canada had it you just hold the mode button down to select. That does not work on my car I called Genesis Canada they told all GV 60 have snow mode we tried again to select no luck they went outside to there compound and tried 2 or 3 GV 60 they could NOT select snow mode they said there must be updated needed again they will be in touch next week :) Have you tried it on yours I would interested to know if yours works. Thank you . Shaun on Vancouver Island .
Hello all,

I just joined the forum after seeing these posts. Picked ours up a week ago a love it!

But, we were out in it last night and found the same thing with both seat heat switches. When we picked it up and drove home they worked fine. Last night once things warmed up a bit they did work normally, but today they have the same issues. Of course they both work, but you have to carefully return the switches to the neutral position since they don't spring back. I wouldn't try any type of lubricant since if it messes things up somewhere under the switch they might give you a hard time with a warranty claim.

Also found there is no snow mode. According to the manual there is, but the car apparently doesn't know that. I'll let the dealer know about both of those issues just for the record at this point.

For the Snow mode you have to press and hold the Drive Mode button. I have used this for my UK spec'd model.

In my Performance model it is a subset of custom mode.

I know. But when I do that this is what comes up:

You have to go into the Vehicle settings and change the default when holding down the drive button from My Mode to Snow Mode. Once you do that then when you hold down the Drive button Snow mode will come up.
Excellent! Thank you. I guess I missed that in the manual. Just did it and now I have snow mode. Just as the snow is all melting away.....oh well, it will be back.

I have the same issue with my Driver's side seat heater/cooler toggle. It was warm here when the issue began (September) , then it disappeared for a few days and then returned, permanently. I have not tried anything to fix myself bc of fear of them not covering under warranty. I made an appt with the maintenance shop, but had to cancel due to a small accident which occurred a month before my maintenance appt. Car isn't legally drivable, so now I am waiting for my the car to go to the body shop. :( Toggle switch has to wait.
