Hello everyone! I'm in the market for a 2023 Genesis GV70 2.5T AWD Sport Prestige Package - VIK black exterior and Obsidian black interior - only accessory desired is the mud guards, bringing the car price to $ 57,520. In scouring around the 'net (including the actual Genesis website) it seems there are none to be found. I called two local Genesis dealerships and they said that NO orders are being taken by Genesis, they are only selling whatever lands at their dealership - ZERO chance of asking for and receiving what you want (just wait and hope)! I notice some people on this forum posting that they have placed "orders" for their cars - how is this so if Genesis is NOT taking orders - or is it that the dealerships I've contacted are just not being truthful? And if that is the case, HOW do I go about ordering the GV70 as I want it? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

I just bought one out of Tulsa 500 miles away.My experience was that it is like fishing.
Make a list of all the colors and trim that are acceptable and your highest price before you start looking. I lost a few because my wife was set on Blue/beige and and I was set on select package. I ended up with Barrosa Burgundy/velvet burgundy advanced package.
I can not recommend any of the dealers that I worked with because they were all horrible.

Hey thanks for the information. Yeah it’s a seller’s market now for sure. I found the GV70 I want nearby but the dealer wants $ 66,200 for the car whose sticker is $ 57,520. They can keep it! I’ll ride a bike or walk before I will patronize these “stealers!” 😡 Chip shortages, supply chain issues, nobody wants to work! Good! Let someone else get ripped off, I am NOT playing this game! 🙆

Found this in Atlanta, good luck

Thanks very much! Gonna reach out to them to see what’s what. So far, ANY dealer I’ve contacted that has this car wants WAY over sticker! Thieves! I won’t do business with them! 😡

So it looks like Georgia doesn’t have the car, Miami said a “salesman” will have to call me back! Not holding out much hope as it’s in Florida and I’m in New York! 🥴

Here is one in Miami,

Spoke to Miami. With taxes and fees they want $ 64K plus I have to have it shipped to New York and then ADD the 9% New York sales tax to the deal, bringing this car to about $ 70,000,00. For that amount, I should be looking at BMW or Audi! 🥴

Do you guys think the 2022 model (base and/or any of the trims) of the GV70 2.5T* will be under $40k by the end of this year?
I currently have a '17 Hyundai Sonata Sport that I enjoy very much, but I want to take the next step into a luxury vehicle. I've been eyeing the G70 since it came out, but when I saw the GV70, it immediately stole my heart.

Never happen! To get somewhat close to $ 40K you’d have to take the cheapest package, no accessories. Supply chain, chip issues, etc. will remain for quite some time and the “stealers” are marking up inventory since it’s so scarce. The stealers here in New York will not take any orders, only selling whatever lands on their lot so no chance of getting a car the way you want it unless Lady Luck delivers it. Another thing to consider is there are NO parts for these cars. On another platform, one guy complained that he had a Genesis that needed body work and / or parts and the stealer told him 6 months to a year to get the needed parts. So his car sits in their repair shop and he makes monthly payments on a car he can’t drive! Things are just too out of whack at the moment. I for one, wanting the GV70 the way I want it, am NOT paying nearly $ 70K for it. Just insane! Good luck in your endeavors, consider the current and future environment when deciding what to do! 🤔

OK! Good to know although with all the extra fees to get it back to New York, etc. it’ll wind up being nearly the same cost as the stealers are charging here in my area! As stated, orders are NOT being taken, you have to wait and HOPE the car you want gets delivered to a dealership as you want it (package, options, etc) and then HOPE again that you can get it for less than the 9K or 10K “markup” they’re adding to the sticker! 🥴

The Electrified GV70 will be a new nameplate for the Genesis lineup, and we expect it to launch as a 2023 model with sales starting sometime in late 2022.
That's nice but UNTIL there is a "meaningful" way to charge these EVs (wherever you may go), it's not worth the risk. There are other "issues" as well with EVs not to mention that our national "grid" unless it is revamped and greatly improved, will not be able to handle all of these EVs plugging into it! 😯
