GV70 Front sunroof glass cracked spontaneously?????

Hi Members....I just purchased a brand new GV70 and just opened the sunroof to find the front sunroof glass totally cracked-- all the way around the circumference...I'm surprised the glass did no fall in. I have been the only driver for the short time I've had it, and there has definitely been no rock strike. We are very upset....dealership so far is implying it is from a rock strike, but it can't be. I have seen that this has happened to others. Were you able to get any action from Hyundai/Genesis??

Do not let them lie to you. This is a known issue and should be covered under warranty.

Thank you hd222. We are scheduled to have the dealership look at it on Monday morning. Do you know where we can gather information on the known defect? Also, I thought I had seen reference somewhere to a lawsuit over this as well-- do you have any knowledge of that and/or where I can go to gather info on that?

Just Google it you will see a bunch of them. The most recent is a class action out of Canada. But there have been past lawsuits in the US as well with respect to sunroof shattering. Let them know before the service appointment that you've done your research so they don't try to give you excuses.

Thanks...I've searched quite a bit and have downloaded various posts in GV Forums and elsewhere to print and present to the dealer, and have looked specifically, fairly extensively for a class action suit out of Canada, but I can't find anything regarding auto glass. If you happen to know of anything specific I would love to know.

As previously posted i have same unresolved issue with 2023 GV70 … dealer said it was ‘outside influence’ my sunroof spider cracked.. such BS… i complained to National Genesis they have requested my local dealer re evaluate
