GV80 Expectations

Now that we have seen enough new Genesis products to give some indication of what to expect going further, I'm sure a lot of you have ideas and expectations of what's to come by 2021. At the same time Genesis can be unpredictable given the fact products like the G70 and G90 are parallel's, not just a smaller/bigger version of something else. That being said, what are you guys as Genesis enthusiasts expecting to see?

Since I started the thread and have ideas/expectations of my own, here they are:
  • sporty enough to give the Porsche Cayenne a run for its money
  • luxurious like the G90 but not too much to impact its overall weight
  • and spacious much like the Cayenne which over the years has proven to be great for families.

I do think that Genesis has made some significant strides in regards to the level of luxury that we are seeing in their new vehicles. I expect this to continue with the GV, and I hope that it sits closer in premium options offered by the likes of MB, BMW and Porsche. I do think that they should also consider electric variants as there are likely going to be several full EV SUV's by 2021.

They can and will offer certain things those bigger brands do but getting away from being an entry level luxury/sport brand will be a challenge. G70 was a great start, but that's all it is.
Well their design language is certainly moving in the right direction, as evident by their Essentia concept. If they are able to offer something similar in an SUV, I would expect there to be quite a lot of interest in it. I don't think they have to be on par with German rivals, as being a cheaper alternative has its selling points.

Lower end products like that G70 might not be doing them justice which makes me wonder what this new SUV will look like. Hard to ignore how much the concept's design resembles what we've seen in much higher 6-figure products.
