Not as much padding on that side to be sure. Remember the reason for them being there is to protect your head in an accident, not for comfort. Forward to minimize whiplash effect. Shame they aren't adjustable front to back like VW's.

has anyone noticed that the headrest does not lock? If you push upwards, it goes up, but you need to push the button to lower it. When i get into the car, sometimes I push back against the seat to adjust my position - my head usually pushes the head rest upwards, even though I don't want it to. The dealer said this was the normal design of the head rest. I find it strange as every car I have had in the past required that you unlock the headrest to adjust it in either direction.

2023 GV-80 Prestige- The headrest is almost constantly hitting the back of my head...something I've never experienced, having owned 27 different cars. Yes, the headrests can be reversed but will not lock into place and the back of my headrest is hard plastic. The Genesis Quick Reference Guide page 05 reads, "To adjust headrest rearward (front seats only) Pull it fully forward to the farthest position and release it." The dealer has no idea what this means...can anyone on the GVForum help?

Let me get this straight. The GENESIS DEALER doesn't know how to adjust the headrests? WTH??????
It's a rachet mechanism (same as all headrests) it clicks into positions from rearward most to forward. When you reach the last click and go past it, the headrest releases and moves all the way back.
Just like every other headrest in the history of headrests......... (ok that last may be a bit of a stretch, but not much)
As the instructions instruct, PULL IT FULLY FORWARD and release...........
it's really just that simple

Your comment is 100% correct; unfortunately, it doesn't solve the problem that the back of my head is in almost constant contact with the headrest. Although my GV-80 is an incredibly smooth riding car, there is road vibration that does transfer to the headrest. A GOOGLE search, "Why are headrests so close to the back of a drivers head?" is very revealing !

The headrest situation mentioned above has been solved ! Recline the seat back a little more and inflate the air bladder in the seat back itself. The headrest is now reliably an inch away from the back of my head: no more headaches!
