GV80 - Towing a trailer or a bike rack: Rear Collision System

3375 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  JJL
Just attached a trailer hitch and a large bikerack to that . The Rear Collision Avoidance system beeped and automatically applied the brakes when I tried to back up. I was able to turn off the unwanted braking - but don't know how to turn off the alarm sound ! - Specific ideas as to the menu navigation steps to stop this ?
Thanks,
John

I also installed a hitch and use it for my bike rack. While I’ve not had any issues with the rear collision function engaging (active braking for you), the beeps do happen. Rather than change all of my settings (going to set up menu and changing the NAV and VEHICLE functions) I’ve found that just disabling the parking assist function on the center consul, stops all the beeps and avoids having to change all of your settings.

Thanks GeeVee - I'll give that a try !
