Let people know the brand and possibly the model number of your garage door opener. Others with that brand that had an issue can chime in.
I hope you get it solved. for me, it was one of the easiest I ever programed, Mine is a 20 year old Genie.

Thanks for your in put, definitely an issue was able to program my Mercedes with no issues
