A friend is interested in purchasing a GV80 with the vanilla beige/black interior. He generally has purchased cars with darker interiors to minimize any marks/stains on the seats, etc. We purchased the GV with the obsidian black interior and like it fine. However the vanilla beige with black trim does look great, however we had the same staining concerns. My friends wife really likes the lighter two tone interior, so they have some thinking to do.

Wondering for those who have purchased the vanilla beige/black interior, how do you find it, any issues, can we wear jeans in the car and not notice staining after awhile?
Or are we preferred black interior folks over reacting?

I can't speak specifically to that interior color combination (I have Dune and almost never wear jeans) however as a general statement, I've heard many times that if you wear jeans regularly, unless they've been washed hundreds of times, you'll have staining. If it's an issue only occasionally,, a 50/50 combination of Woolite and water will remove the stain.

Those magic erasers (or anything similar) work great. I've used them on light and dark interiors and they work great.

If you are really concerned about blue Jean dye transfer, you can seal the seats with a ceramic coating (similar to ceramic coatings for paint). Leather seats on modern cars are ”sealed” using the same urethane clear coat that is sprayed on you exterior paint. All the conditioners, creams, liquid nourishing products don’t penetrate like they claim. Napa leather is sealed as well. Even though the urethane is durable, it still needs regular cleaning to keep grit and dirt from sanding away the clear coat and exposing the leather underneath. While dye transfer should be minimal, it does occur and can be removed with products designed to clean leather. I have never used a ceramic leather sealant, but I may on this vehicle as I too ordered a vanilla beige with black interior and want to keep it clean. I will most likely use this product:

I second the suggestion for ceramic coating. We had it done on a tan leather interior after it turned blue from color transfer. It doesn’t last forever depending on use, but it can have a decent lifespan before you need to redo it again.

my detailer did not like magic erasers because it has abrasive properties. Use it too much and your leather surfaces can wear out prematurely.
