I reserved my gv80 June 3rd. I just spoke with my salesman and he said they're not coming in the USA until the end of July or into August

After reading the article yesterday about Hyundai halting production of the gv80 because of shortage of parts I called my salesman (New Jersey) to see if he heard about it. He did not but he did tell me that they're expecting the GV80s to come in the end of July or into August. He did not say beginning of August. When I first reserved the vehicle he was expecting them end of June or middle of July at latest so that's a little updated info for everyone.

UPDATE: July 17, 2020
In this thread a email was sent to a senior in Genesis Motors USA asking when they should arrive and the reply was and the September early October.

Hyundai motors have been approved to work overtime for the gv80 and G80

Hopefully it comes before September but nobody really knows.

Thanks @mansamusa. At least the delay isn't that bad.

What other information has your dealer given you so far since ordering? Have you decided what first steps to take after delivery day? Some people get paint protection right away.

Since I have a luxury car right now Genesis has a incentive for $1,000 off the price if you currently own a luxury vehicle. There are also other incentives, for example, if you are a first responder, military, and I forget the others but I suggest you ask about incentives when purchasing.

I am actually Leasing this vehicle and I have not put too much thought about steps I should take delivery day but paint protection is definitely going to be at the top of the list. Is there any other steps you suggest I should take or could you point me in a direction where I could get ideas of things I should do to preserve this vehicle.

I saw a green corporate demo in Westwood NJ yesterday. I called Genesis of Mahwah and asked about the release date, again. The guy confirmed the demo had a flat or something, but more importantly said that he believed it would be mid July.

So we're not far off. But this helps me because I have 6 months left on my lease. If its August, perhaps they'd be more willing to eat the payments or maybe I'd just have 2 payments for a couple months lol.

@bhtur, you mentioned October in another thread. Has that changed?

@mansamusa I wish the eGV80 (electric/hybrid version) was available at launch because it might have qualified us for some other credits. What are you driving the moment? Also, what are the leasing conditions you are under? Was it at least competitive compared to other leasing terms you've seen?

On new car prep, I recommend this video:

I appreciate this video. I never even heard of a electric hybrid gv80. Is that an actual thing? I heard they're working on the gv70 for next year. I currently own a 2012 Range Rover Sport as my everyday vehicle. I also have a 1986 C4 Corvette, 1986 Porsche gemballa, 1971 Jaguar xke and a few other vehicles I don't drive. Lol

I did not get to see any detailed leasing terms yet but I told him I wanted to do a 3-year 45000 mile Lease. He said okay. The demand for this vehicle is high and he said they're probably will not be too many of them on the lot for at least a few months after it is released so there is no room for negotiating the price of the lease. All I did was put down my $500 deposit and he said when my vehicle is secure we will then do all the paperwork.

I'd be curious to know what Genesis uses for paint protection vs some of the aftermarket options.

Are front license plates required in your state? If you're in a state that does not require a front plate, ask the dealer to not drill holes into the front bumper as part of their pre-delivery process. Whenever I've bought a new car, the dealer is always happy to listen to me and not drill the license plate holder into the front. Keeps the front end looking nice without front plate holes!

I so wish that was the case. Front and rear license plates are required from my state. I actually looked into that and there are attachments so you don't have to drill holes into the bumper. But it'll still screw up that perfect front end which is a big reason why I want this vehicle.

Thanks for the heads up @mansamusa. I can't wait to go for a test drive.

Did the demo have the flat when you saw it?

you might want to call your local Genesis dealership to see if they will have any to test drive as there are 10,000 pre-orders and with the parts shortage I'm not sure how many they will have on hand to test drive or sell.

lol oh man that's brutal. I'd hate to be the person behind the wheel when that happened

Yeah for sure, it's going to interesting to see what the numbers are going to look like.
I think Hyundai, as a whole, knows how to build cars in volume, so it shouldn't be an issue.
If anything, their problem is a lack of dealerships.
FYI, a good place to keep tabs on when we can test drive them will be with this page on the Genesis site:

No GV80 listing so far, obviously for reasons explained above.
