I have a 2023 GV80. I tried plugging in my iPod touch (approx 3 years old) to the USB port and expected to see the it come up under Media. This is how it worked on my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe.
Apparently I can use a USB memory stick with music on it , but was told by a Genesis rep that the ipod won't work that way. I know I can Bluetooth it, but would rather have it directly plugged in. I have over 10,000 songs on it and don't want to put all that on my phone.
Any comments, helpful info? Am I missing something?

Yep, found the same issue. So I hooked it up as my second bluetooth source. Seems kinda stupid that you cant connect via USB. FWIW I have also had issues connecting a Galaxy Tab to USB, same issue

Don't you have to enable USB Drive mode in android for it to present as a standard USB memory card????
I recall that being in a setting, or a developer menu that needed to be enabled....
Worked for me in all cars, prior to switching to an iPhone...

Also, I ONLY use BT on my iPhone when I'm changing songs on my USB media.
Yesterday, while connected to BT, I selected menu to see if I could boost the pre-amp as the BT volume was unexpectedly low (had to turn volume to 60 to get any real cabin fill).
There was a setting related to playing music as iPOD.
I dunno if this same option appears when you plug in your iPODs.
If it doesn't even recognize a USB device has been plugged in, that's a completely different story.

I have, however, found several "jail broken" iPad firmwares that might resolve the issue for you, while also allowing you to upgrade the capacity...

YMMV
