For the Genesis GV80, In states/countries where the front license plate is required the only place that I have heard you can place the front license plate without having sensors go off is smack dead center of the grille. That is a serious design flaw in my opinion.

It's one of the main reasons why I purchased this vehicle. I really do not wish to get pulled over for not having a front license plate.

Hopefully someone here might know a solution for the proper placement of the front license plate without having the sensors for the GV80 go off.

I suggest going with a tow hook mount. Its a common spot these days.

I read when the license plate is put there it blocks a sensor that goes off. After seeing other vehicles with the license plate there, the asymmetry of the license plate off to one side throws off the balance of the look. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

So far not even a second look for my missing front plate. I see a lot of Corvettes, BMW’s, and others driving without front plates. I’ll BS if I am stopped and tell them there was no mounting available when it was delivered. Why we require 2 plates in Illinois is beyond my understanding....

My sentiments, exactly, also I ordered a trailer hitch on mine that sticks out like a sore thumb, probably will have to get a specialty shop to fabricate fixes for both flaws, can't believe Genesis would release both( in my mind) flaws, because everything else is near perfect.

Freddy, I agree, I have both issues, living in Ontario, great vehicle, but both flaws driving me crazy, I relocated my plate under the front bumper on 2 stainless steel hinges, and installed velcro where the plate can be tipped under the bumper and out of sight normally, I thought if I get stopped( which has not happened YET, Lol, I could just unsnap it and let it hand normally, kind of low to the ground ( until I'm out of sight) though, hopefully no ticket. As for the trailer hitch I went to a local machinist , and He is working on a custom hitch cover matching the Genesis Logo, I thought I might make a few of these if I'm happy with the end result, we'll see.

I don't know if it interferes with anything, but my local Genesis dealer has it on their demo GV80's.

Where I live it's something like a $230 ticket for no front plate. The police love to look for missing plates because it's an easy ticket for them so not having one is not an option unless you have deep pockets and lots of time.

Yes, it's like the biggest pimple on a great face!! But NJ requires it. You would think a classy car would AT LEAST provide the stainless steel license frame (to very slightly diminish the major flaw) (Regarding those police & tickets, i love that this country can print TRILLIONS of dollars on a sneeze but to provide a town with enough money to cover whatever ticket money goes to, not to mention the disgrace of being numb to RAISING INSURANCE RATES (like for my 37mph speeding tickets in a 25mph zone breaking downhill in West Paterson) - so that cops dont have to abuse their power, as many seem to love to do here, and post TRAPS!!!
i decided to remove it and put the plate in my glove box if needed. It is too disruptive to a clean grille look.

Update, still no one cares about a missing front plate.
