Considering the recent J.D Power survey results, it's clear that Genesis is well on its way to becoming a worthy rival amongst much more expensive competitors. In terms of initial vehicle quality J.D. Power, found Genesis to be the highest. In fact Korean automakers now occupy all three top spots, with Kia and Hyundai taking the other two positions.

The biggest challenge Genesis will have will be translating facts like this into sales and perception of the brand that's much higher than it is now.
People are still reluctant to buy a Hyundai or Genesis product. It doesn't help that well established brands are increasingly offering more affordable trims and models. Further challenging Genesis.
I think the initial hesitations that were seen with the Genesis brand, will continue to decrease as their lineup expands. Hyundai has proven themselves to make affordable, dependable vehicles, but some are obviously still going to have issue paying a premium price on a Korean product. The newer concept vehicles that debuted at the New York Autoshow, are a huge step forward for the Genesis brand.
Taking it a step further might be the way. BMW and Mercedes offer higher end trims that are drastically different but also positively impact cheaper end products. Genesis should follow suit.
Personally I think the main thing holding back the Genesis brand is proper customer service. A premium brand should come with all of the same amenities and accommodations offered by rivals.

Found the solution ;)

A Canadian creation unique to the globe, the sales plan was developed in Canada, for Canada, and a new Toronto location is the first Genesis stand-alone boutique in the world. The brand is sold in Hyundai stores in the United States, but is strictly standalone in Canada.
canucks dig it but Genesis has anxiety about expanding and putting money on the line
