Congratulations on your new GV80 @Aaron! Welcome to the forum. Kudos to your wife for steering you towards it haha. Great color combination too. How do you find the GV80's 3.5L V6 compares to the other vehicles you looked at?
The GV80's 3.5 has some grunt, it'll get up and go but very smoothly. The Audi SQ5 in comparison is a rocket! That thing launches hard and sounds great. We didn't drive a Macan with the 6 cylinder only a 4 cylinder turbo so it doesn't really compare. That 4 cylinder turbo has tons of turbo lag. The 3.0 TTV6 in the Explorer felt good, I'd slot it in between the GV80 and SQ5. The powertrains (5.0 and 3.5Ecoboost) in the F150 blow all of these away lol.Congratulations on your new GV80 @Aaron! Congratulations on your new GV80 @RonMacGV80! Welcome to the forum! Cardiff Green and Beige w/ Urban Ground is one of my favorite combinations on the GV80. Can't wait to see some photos when you pick it up. Is there anything on the Prestige model you'd want on the Advanced?Had a 2018 Audi Q7 Prestige recently totalled by golf ball size hail while on vacation on the Gulf Coast. After lots of due diligence, we narrowed our search for a replacement down to another Audi Q7, the Lincoln Aviator, Mercedes GLE, Volvo XC 90 Inscription, and the GV80.
Previously owned three Mercedes (an S class and two ML 350s) in addition to the Audi.
After test driving comparable models of each of the brands mentioned, we were surprised to discover the GV80 was our hands down favorite across the board.
The interior and exterior design is simply stunning, and the fit and finish was equal to or surpassed all the other vehicles we looked at while the price was $5-12k less!
We do mostly highway driving and found the GV80 to be extremely quiet and the 3.5 T had plenty of power. On long road trips, my wife and I mostly listen to ‘classic‘ jazz (Dave Brubeck, Stan Getz, John Coltrane, etc) and the 21 speaker Lexicon system in the GV 80 made us feel like we were in a concert hall; amazing! BTW: the same Lexicon system is used by Rolls Royce In their cars.
We also discovered our dealer had the only Cardiff Green GV80 in the state (we double-checked). Though not the Prestige version, it is the 3.5t Advanced edition with a gorgeous beige/taupe interior and we love it! We will take delivery on 19 May and have a two hour appointment scheduled to help educate us on the technology. Can’t wait!
Congratulations on your Prestige Package GV80! It's a great ride and the more you drive it the more you'll appreciate it! Good luck and safe travels...As the title states, I purchased a new GV80. I've been a Ford guy all my life and have owned nothing but Fords. The time came to replace our 2018 F150 Platinum, largely due to color remorse (magma red). We considered the Explorer ST, in my mind this was the best all around vehicle. It can tow upwards of 5000 lbs, handles great being a ST product, room for 7 (comfortably), high HP and TQ and decent fuel mileage. The only thing that kept me from buying it was the overall look. Sure it looks nice, but its not a head turner. It just lacks something in the looks department.
Next we looked at the Porsche Macan. My wife loved the Porsche (as any female would) but I quickly found all of its downsides. I dont particularly like the way it looks, and you're paying a lot just for the Porsche name. It lacks a lot of the new tech on the inside and is relatively small. I hate the fact that they leave all the blank buttons to remind you that you didn't spend enough. Also, the maintenance costs are a downside. I must day it did drive nice and flat though.
Next we looked at the Audi SQ5. Typical Audi, great form and function. Very nice interior sounds amazing build quality 👌. But the Audi lacks soul. Its too mechanical.
Last, we went to look a loaded Palisade. While walking around the lot looking for one we walked by a burgundy color GV80. My wife looks over at me and says "oooo I like that", I quickly shot it down and said "stop looking thats too expensive". At that point I had an very vague idea of what Genesis was and thought the Genesis SUV was $90k plus. We continued to search for the loaded Palisade but did not find one. We walked by another GV80, a silver one, and said what the heck lets just look at it. As we're walking up to it I notice its got a great presence to it. Peering through the windows I see a very nice interior, at this point the stalking salesman grabbed the keys and unlocked it so we could see the inside better. I was amazed at the level of the attention to detail, the quality of the materials used, and the fit and finish of everything...and this was only a base model. I was shocked to see a $60k price on the window sticker. After some back and forth with the salesman I told him I wanted to see one in white. He informed me they would be receiving a white Prestige in a couple of days. Fast forward to that day and we're back looking at the Prestige, our eyes lit up as we saw it drive up. WOW! This thing looks amazing in white! Took it for a drive and we were sold. We wasted no time in purchasing it as there were already two other people there waiting to see it after we got back from our test drive.
Its worth noting that a new 2021 F150 Limited was at the top of my list as that represents the best value in terms of function, capability and features. Having had various F150s in years prior and a decreasing need for a tow vehicle we decided to opt for something different. View attachment 1819 View attachment 1820
We wanted the Prestige also, but the dealer was charging a $7,500 premium over the sticker price because they are hard to find. Ended up with a Black on Black Advanced 3.5. So far loving it.Congratulations on your Prestige Package GV80! It's a great ride and the more you drive it the more you'll appreciate it! Good luck and safe travels...
Traded in my Palisade (which I loved) for a GV80 with 3.5T engine. It was definitely a step up in luxury and performance. Everyone who saw it were very impressed. However, exactly three weeks and 1153 miles the car started to jump out of gear after the car had move 50 feet after starting. Had the car towed to the dealership. After five days the dealership and Genesis rep have no answer as to why this fault is happening. After five days of discussion the current strategy appears to be to replace the transmission. However, there do not appear to be any available in the USA!! They gave me a loaner G70 to run around in. Yesterday I found out there is a class action suit in Florida against Hyundai and specifically the GV80 as being unsafe and dangerous to drive. I see a Lemon Law claim in my future!Congratulations on your Prestige Package GV80! It's a great ride and the more you drive it the more you'll appreciate it! Good luck and safe travels...
Sorry to hear of the problems you're experiencing. Ours has been flawless since we picked it up in December but it's been mostly garaged, only 1,500 miles on it. If they want to keep their momentum building as a brand they better correct any problems people are having as bad news travels fast.Traded in my Palisade (which I loved) for a GV80 with 3.5T engine. Seat comfort! Seat bottom too hard!!
You can adjust the seat to be more comfortable. it's got lots of adjustments. Maybe someone set the seat all the way to the bottom before you got into the car.Seat comfort! Seat bottom too hard!!
Thanks, both salesman and I have tried numerous adjustments. Today I changed the angle of the seat bottom which seems to have helped some. I really think it relates to the massage unit. You can adjust the seat to be more comfortable. it's got lots of adjustments. One of the seat adjustments is to raise the seat, this is done by inflating the bottom cushion, perhaps that might make it better. Perhaps someone lowered that at some point and released all the air from the bladder in the bottom of the seat. Thanks, both salesman and I have tried numerous adjustments.
