Just ordered my Saville Silver, 3.5T Luxury here in Sydney...delivery in late July.
Test drove all 3 in (2.5T, 3.0 Diesel and 3.5T), just liked the extra horses.

BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, Palisade and MDX.
BMX X5 - too expensive to bring it up to the Genesis spec, didnt have a good experience before with BMW so that probably tainted my decision too.
Mercedes....to me felt cheap, didnt like the cabin look.
Palisade was really nice but wife thought it was too big and would be difficult for her to handle.
MDX looks too space age for my taste.
We dont want M class performance, just luxury and Genesis provides that with great tech at a great price point.
My only regret was not being able to order in Gold Coast Silver.
